Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"
That troop transport headed to Wake is within a day or two already since it's going full speed and will probably land on Wake tomorrow night. I've got some subs stationed to the west to act as a trip wire to give some prior notice. Wake was hit twice yesterday by Bettys and as soon as the CV comes in range it can CAP the base.
EDIT: As soon as I've gotten the base stabilized and cleared of Japs I'm thinking of turning Wake into a sub base. It's my closest base to all the sore spots. I'll need to run an HQ out to Wake to lend a hand and provide TTs. A couple of PBY's and some naval aircraft to ward off all the Jap ships and some extra engineers to build up the base rapidly.

Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"
I've built a fuel TF made up of AO's and they are going to Palmyra first and then to Christmas Island and then to Canton, etc. So that each base will have sufficient fuel for it's needs and when I run out of fuel I'll head back to Pearl for some more. I'm doing this because I need each of these bases to have all the things they need to be useful to the war effort. I may need to dock a broken ship on one of these islands sometime in the future.

Do you have an Air HQ in range of Singapore to supply the torps?larryfulkerson wrote: Sun Apr 14, 2024 4:26 pm There's a Jap TF to the east of Singapore ( still ) and I've got my entire air fleet at Singapore concentrating on it and I'm going to attack it even though it's in a thunderstorm because I'm hoping to get lucky. I'm going to drop everybody down to 5K feet because of the weather.

For your Wake Is. operation, it's fine to LRCAP your transports, but if the Japanese find your CV, it will need a strong CAP too!

Here's the HQ units at Singapore as we speak and the two RAF HQ units will provide TT's but the Malaya Army HQ will not. D'oh.

Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"
I've built a light SCTF at Soerabaja that is 6 DD's with a really decent captain and I'm thinking of running over to Davao and taking a swipe at the Jap TF there. The problem with that is that a skirmish of that TF with my sub gave the intel that that TF is made up of the following Japanese Ships: BB Hyuga, CA Mogami, DD Yakaze, and DD Hokaze. I'm not sure it's a good idea to go make trouble but I'm going to try to get some hits on the BB so the Japs will have to take it offline to fix it.

Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"
Yes, so in addition to the Saratoga I thought I'd send the Enterprise as well. I received the Lexington at San Diego about a week ago and it has docked at Pearl and has gotten it's minor problems fixed and now it's been included in TF374 and it's going to leave Pearl tonight to fool the Jap coast watchers and it's going to head out to Wake arriving probably three days from now.BBfanboy wrote: Sun Apr 14, 2024 5:41 pm For your Wake Is. operation, it's fine to LRCAP your transports, but if the Japanese find your CV, it will need a strong CAP too!

Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"
The Japs captured a couple of cities around Manila. It looks like they will enter Manila soon. I had a DD hit a mine at Jolo last night but now in the am of the next day I see no Jap mines depicted there so now I'm wondering if my DD hit one of MY mines? I suppose that's possible.

Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"
TF225 and TF1153 are both damaged DD's and those two DD's represent the sole survivors of a 6-DD SCTF that tangled with a Jap SCTF that had at least one CA and several DD's as I recall. I guess I won't do that again soon. But at least I got at least one shell hit on at least one Jap CA.

Multiple Jap LCU's are up and moving in southern Malaya and my pitiful forces are being forced backward and the Japs will be adjacent to Singapore in a couple of weeks, maybe less.

Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"
I've decided to evacuate the area south of Nanchang down to Foochow on the coast. I have in mind building an MLR anchored on Changsha down to Kukong thusly to Canton which I'd like to take back from the Japs.
On the other hand the Chinese air force isn't all that mature yet. I need to look into the possibility of moving some of those bomber pilots into the fighter community. Also, there's no recon or transport pilots either. I need to organize them better.

Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"
The AP Macclhui is unloading a Coy of AUS ground troops and it is suffering a dire need for supply and fuel and a lot more engineers to build up this base ASAP. You would have thought that I might have planned ahead for that need but actually this project was a spur of the moment impulse kind of thing that I thought needed done and soon. Now I need to support that LCU before it starves.

Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"
Here's how the economy is doing. So far so good. I've got more HI coming out of the process than yesterday. I'm waiting for at least 10K of supply in those cities that have damage to their facilities before I start fixing the damage.

Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"
Midway is my main sub base for operations close to the HI and it doesn't have a sub tender yet. So I'm sending the AS I have at Pearl to fill that need. I'm going to assign TF315 one or more escorts and send her on her way.

TF316 is loading some engineers for Wake to help build up that base quicker.

TF335 is loading the 35th Combat Engineers but I'm not sure exactly where to send it yet. Perhaps Canton, my southern sub base for operations around Truk and Rabaul.

Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"
During a thunderstorm one of my SCTF TF of 4 DD's ran into an enemy TF that had two Jap CVL's in it and unfortunately they were escorted by a CA and two DD's. So of course we caught a hit in the combat but at least I got a hit on a Jap carrier.
