RE: 1945!
If it wasn´t in the middle of the day and I have to take Ida to the dentist in a hour I would pour a big scotch to sooth my frail nerves! [:D]
If the sweeps go in before the strikes I think I will do good. If not I will probably wreck my strike groups VERY badly.
And if all I sink is empty ships its a failure regardless of what happens.
Yuck!

they have HRORIGINAL: Powloon
The tension is killing me so god knows what it is doing to you[:)]
Ok so I lied one other thought do you have any paras to drop on the rail line? A drop between Vinh and Hue would take him several days to clear or would this be seen as a gamey move?
No invasions or paradrops on hexes that doesn´t contain a dot or base.

Short on time. Havn´t watched the replay. Looks like failure. Most troops seems to have gotten ashort. [:(]

Managed to edit out a bit of crap from the CR. At the dentist waiting for Idas turn. By looking at the CR a bit more closely it really does looks like a big Allied defeat. Looks like the vast bulk of Jap troops got ashore in time. The ship losses won´t bother Erik as he don´t need them anymore.
So I wasted A LOT of good planes and pilots for nothing.
CRAP. [:(]

Don't be so hasty - those troops will probably not be able to get anywhere near where he needs them (closer to the HI)....keep up the good work and don't get down on yourself.

RE: 1945!
Have the LCUs really gotten away from you? If they use strategic movement to get away there is only one path for them to take. Can't you hit them with LBA ground attacks while they are entrained? Destroying them outright while they were at sea would have been quite the coup, but rendering them combat ineffective with ground attacks isn't a bad alternative.

Thanks guys. Feel disappointed right now but it will pass. Losses where very heavy for the miniscule gains. [:(]
I´ll try to get a full update up later!

RE: 1945!
Just a short update. I´m alone with Ida all weekend as Maria is going on Danko Jones concert out of town. Doubt I´ll get the turn off to Erik tonight.
A bit of a quick and dirty screen but here is the situation. Feeling a little bit better now. Doesn´t look like Erik got much ashore at all. [:)] There were 100.000 troops at Bangkok...tracker shows 229 LCU points lost for the Jap but I guess a lot of them are from the suicide attack outside Tavoy.
Not really sure how to play this. There won´t be any more airstrikes thats for sure. Still 700 fighters at Saigon. I think I´m going to retired the CV fleet. Won´t accomplish anything more here that will justify the losses. Doubt Erik will do anything with the KB. Seeing that 450 Corsair CAP is a pretty clear indication he can´t do much. Nonetheless I´m going to move the entire fleet into the SCS. Just incase...
EDIT: Should also add that tracker shows a 468 points VP gain. No idea where they come from.

They're only miniscule if you don't care about VPs. Look at the ships you sank, man!
A lot of that screenie is his pain, not yours.
And he may be sorta kinda done with a need for ships, but not fully. He might want to get some troops from Asia over the water to home before this is done. You crunched those TFs.

Thanks, [:)] I do feel a little better now after seeing he didn´t get that much a shore. And despite all the losses I somehow "won the day" with 468 VPs. Can´t complain about that!

I'm amazed he has that many xAPs left at this date. Some of them are worth a few VPs too. Check it out.

RE: 1945!
Agreed. I know you wanted to "wipe them out, all of them" but it's still a victory for you nonetheless. An added bonus as well is its likely only the troops made it off the ships. All the heavy equipment and support is likely to have gone down in the cargo holds. Troops without this back up are easy meat overall!

RE: 1945!
Superstack near Tavoy - He is killing off his troops so he can spend PP to buy them out again and rebuild for defense of Japan. That will take time, supply and PP. They will have lousy experience levels. This will free up your troops to go somewhere.
Bangkok - a large AF like you said to base massive number of bombers. His evacation gives you a large port. I would thing about escorting in a mega-supply convoy from the Philippines to alleviate supply issues as you push towards Saigon and beyond. A Command HQ would help hold extra supplies.
Fletchers - I would send these guys out is size 4 to 8 ship TF to wreck havoc on his remaining shipping. Yes, you will lose some, but you can use them to your advantage (LRCAP traps).
