This is building to a classic Wobbly attack.

dawn, and much to my surprise KB launches at extreme range a strike on nevea

My Betties at lunga hit the ground troops at rennel, the betties that arrived on map experience 30, are now in less than 2 weeks of use up to 50s experience.
This is encouraging
Yammato lurks at woodlark, and a CA TF with a regiment is near shortlands, will attempt to land on rennel shortly
CV hiyo heads east, to wave the flag north of nevea
The pieces are in place.

For 3 days I tried to manouvre a fast transport to rennell, no go
Wobbly hung back, complaining I keep going where he does not want me to go
CV Hiyo plays a perfect role as "KB" lurks to the north
To make things interesting, to chew up torpedoes I send a Naval guard unit to rennel from lunga by barge, and lots of barges loaded with nothing at all
The PTs, and Buefighters cull quite a few, and B17s hit them once ashore, yet they land OK
His deliberate attack fails to remove them, but the next day a shock attack does destroy them
Thats OK, His PTs expend a lot of ammo
Meanwhil;e lots of troops are enroute to Lunga, and finally I let loose the ships
I wanted to fast transport a regiment , but something went wrong, no idea where it went to all !!!!!
OH well, it will turn up

10CA,6 dd hit the place, mines everywhere!
lots of battles, but his toothless PTs are sunk in 5 rounds of fighting
Then 2BB,2CAs,9DDs hit as well, sinking more PTs
CAs then unloaded troops (the missing regiment?) but there was no sign the next day of them when Wobbly shock attacked, maybe they got destroyed? landing
Anyhow, Ive decided to committ more metal
Mines hurt the most, I lost 1dd today(mine then sub), 4 dds, 1cl 1CA all have to retire hurt
More heavy metal on the way, and I intend to try again to unload troops onto the place
lots and lots of barges enroute, lots and lots of troops available, and this still leaves 4 regiments reserve at rabual
round one to him, I think, but no way is he going to be allowed to establish air power on this rock.

Why do you want to invade Rennel??. Is it worthwhile?. Rennel is airport 0 and port 0. Once you land your forces there, you´ll have to supply them or to evacuate and that could be a nightmare...
