I think im having some in my game too ! .. royal pain in the butt.

Ken turned off animations for a turn as japan and that seemed to help a lot. hope that works for you 2.

Anyway Nik .. quick question

Ken wants to upgrade to your superb version 5 [;)]. Is it ok to just overwrite our 4.2 one and continue ? or will that trash the game completely ? . fingers crossed we are ok to do so as i really dont want to start again ! (NOOOOO) .. however the downdraded allied AA is a welcome sight to be honest .. i would suspect curent game wont be affacted by that tough.

anyway .. thx in advance for any info .. we may re-start a May game (scen 13) .. if it goes bad. .. aw but then I'll have no force Z .. and i like looking after that little baby
sorry for the spelling . English is my main language , I just can't type . and i'm too lazy to edit :)

The new scenarios (Grand Campaign and 1942A) fit into slots 40 and 45 respectively. Over-writing won't impact your game as all data is contained in the save game file. The scenario data is only accessed when first starting.

Hi all,

The best 2 days for the Empire in over a month.............

First and foremost Singapore falls on the 28th as predicted. Over 90,000 Allied scum are captured and 2 x Dutch subs are scuttled in port:

Ground combat at Singapore

Japanese Deliberate attack

Attacking force 109409 troops, 787 guns, 389 vehicles

Defending force 59687 troops, 160 guns, 11 vehicles

Japanese assault odds: 4 to 1 (fort level 2)

Japanese forces CAPTURE Singapore base !!!

Japanese ground losses:
615 casualties reported
Guns lost 26
Vehicles lost 3

Allied ground losses:
93464 casualties reported
Guns lost 284

Excellent. This means that several LCU's are free to prosecute Phase 1c.

---------------------

Also Palembang falls after fine Dutch resistance and Allied air support from Batavia:

Ground combat at Palembang

Japanese Deliberate attack

Attacking force 15292 troops, 112 guns, 0 vehicles

Defending force 4048 troops, 25 guns, 1 vehicles

Japanese assault odds: 6 to 1 (fort level 0)

Japanese forces CAPTURE Palembang base !!!

Japanese ground losses:
17 casualties reported
Guns lost 3

Allied ground losses:
65 casualties reported
Guns lost 7

Unfortunately only 181 of the oil production has been captured intact.

Other good news follows..........

SS I-170 patrolling due south of Tarawa found an AK, surfaced and sunk her with 3 torpedo's....interestingly this was achieved by a tip off.. The captain was Japanese. Look see for yourself in the message log below [:D]

The 2nd bit of interesting info for me:

Remember I said that an SBD attacked an I-boat on the 26th? Well today the Glen on the sub found his carriers. Just to the SW of the screenshot is Midway. IJNAF commands and relevant IJN shipping has been alerted..........

I was suprised (pleasantly) by how long the Dutch held out at Palembang given they were badly outnumbered.

The small amount of air losses is amazing.

Edit: Japanese a2a losses, that is. The flak losses make up for it though.

A2A is much less bloody than one might expect. Flak losses will be alot higher for those who are used to bombing a target in daylight at 6000 feet. As related in the FAQ...playtesting 4.0+ did call for a slight adjustment, and a specific adjustment to the SRA. Shows the value of playtests. SRA units start the game with disablements but these quickly repair....if enough supply is present they can also replace losses. result.....flak cities at Singapore and Manila/Bataan due to over concentration of large numbers of ENG units.

5.0 should fix it, restoring Japan's happy time.

Hi Mike,

I rule in the air. As my sig says Nik has nerfed our game. He recognised my superiority at WitP so he created a special scenario whereby he nerfs my planes to flak = thinks it evens it out for him............[;)][:'(]

LOL. The irony of that statement Mike. In my notes section for our save game it has the following: "Death to the Capitalist!"[:D]

SpeedO's CV's have not yet felt the sting of my CV's....but he soon will. Already one CVL lies at the bottom of the ocean. That Dutch sub had an American trained crew of course.....

Hi Mike,

Reading though's Nik's farcical lies the only CV's to have action have been KB over PH (sinking 2 BB's), then in the Java Sea they wiped out Allied airpower and sunk CVL Hermes (what a poor excuse for a CVL) and then on the way back to refuel past Toboali a LUCKY Dutch sub sunk Zuiho with 3 fish.......

KB's location remains hidden and has done s for 2 weeks. Nik's CV's location is known as mentioned before........

So Singapore fell? Seems to be a great achievement. In both games I´m playing (one of them vs, Nik) Singapore seems to be impossible to be taken.
