Those transports could have gone directly to EC USA. It will take over a month to get them back from Port Stanley.
Just before I quit the turn I remembered what you said and rerouted those transports to EC directly. It's 170 hexes as the crow flies. What is that a month or two?

There's an enemy SCTF snooping around Singkawang and I almost hope he pulls into the port there because I have 50 mines laid there for him to run into. There would be more mines but Batavia ran out of mines. I don't have any combat ships seaworthy in this area so for now we'll just use LBA/C and see where he goes.

The Japs on Wake finally died of attrition and the island is mine. They were building forts but I changed that to work on the port. There's a lot of support ships at Pearl that I could share with this port. I may have to make this my main northern sub base eventually. I gotta find out why there's only part of the 6th Marine Def Bn ( ART ) present on the island. Where's the rest of it? I gotta look into that.

I remember what happened now. Earlier in the war I had a PBY doing a troop transport trying to move that unit to Midway and only a part of it got moved. I'll send an AP to pick him up and carry him over to Midway and put 'em back together.

Depends on the TF speed. Once they leave the pending state and begin their off-map journey the number of days remaining to their destination base will display in the lower right under the auto-disband option. So, for a cargo task force with a speed of 12 knots departing Cape Town for the Eastern USA it will arrive in 31 days. A month on the nose.

Here's what ships were sunk last turn. Two Jap transports and a Jap sub are included in the list. The Japs used their CV near Java to catch some of my ships leaving Soerabaja and sank them.

Here's what shape Midway is in now. I have fuel being unloaded there. There's three ENG units and some ART but no infantry so I need to introduce some kind of ground LCU for defense. But there's a PBY and some Buffalo's there.

This is what Wake looks like now. There's three ART units, some CD guns, and one ENG unit there. So Wake needs a ground LCU as well. But I can pull some ART out of there and place it in some other needy place. Three Allied subs and 2 DD's are there for naval defense. I expect another Jap TF with transports and escorts to try to invade Wake again sometime soon.

TF232 used to have about a dozen ships in it but the Jap CV ( just NW of Soerabaja ) sank a lot of them yesterday and the two AM's and the TK are trying to get away as quick as they can. Soerabaja used to be full of ships but now that the Japs are so close they evacuated to the south to Darwin carrying as many RES and fuel as they could hold.

Here's the list of aircraft that were lost yesterday and you can see that the Japs lost a lot of Betty's over Singapore, shot down by the British Buffalo's that were flying CAP over that base. With no loss to themselves.

In the combat animation description of the air attack it will usually show the name of the attacking squadrons. From that you can usually ID the carrier involved.

larryfulkerson wrote: Wed Apr 17, 2024 4:50 am The Japs on Wake finally died of attrition and the island is mine.

Just click on the unit and then on its "OOB" button on the lower part of the unit screen. It will show the fragments and location if there are any.

You should get some PP for early withdrawal. Not sure how much - I think major warships like British CVs are worth quite a bit.

The Japs landed at Ternate last night and the only LCU I have there is an ENG unit so the Japs will own the base shortly. I've got some aircraft there that I need to move real quick.

There's a Jap TF north of Miri that could possibly contain 3 Jap CV's and it's headed SW at this time. So I need to evacuate all the ships in this area before the Japs sink them. I don't have enough of the right kind of LBA to deal with this Jap TF.
