We continue to shell each other at Lunga.  the KB has shown itself to the NW about 400NMiles away.  One day out from what the 1st Marine Div know will recieve a good iron lunch.  Dig those holes deeper boys. In other news night raids continue to be utilized by both sides in the NG theatre of Operations. A 200 plane raid was made on the airfield base at Kavieg looking to kill more IJA planes. Lunga was bombed by SBDs out of Irau and B24s from a long distance.

Today The allies did not fly 4e LBA into lunga to support the ground attack and this is the effect.  No reduction in fort level.

RE: Lunga captured

Post by bigred »

Lunga has fallen to the Allies.  VP spread has moved to a +500 position over the Japs, almost enough for a minor allied victory. 8 months ago when we started this game we both said "no rules".
Bigred has promised to humble me beyond question. To pulverize the Japanese and make me cry ¨I GIVE UP!!¨ To place his dirty bare foot on the neck of a prostrate Ike99 laying in horse dung in an unquestionable display of Allied dominance over the Japanese.
IKe can still win a decisive victory, but now the same is also true for me. I would say the first player to make a major mistake will cost him the game. I was lucky 2 times earlier as the results could have been worse.
Yes, somewhere, on some post, I must admit the I did say "Ike99 needed to be humbled." God Willing. I noticed I am a Matrix veteran w/ 2 stars and Ike is elite w/ 4 stars. I guess that means he puts out 2x BS.

Currently I am trying to suppress IKE's airfields w/ daylight bombing and Ike is trying to score points by doing night raids on my extended positions.  The score is tight.  I will wait for Ike to return and let him post the VPs.
Today a mixed bag of LBA out of Lae and Nazib dropped 10 bombs on 4 Kongo class BBs about 330 NMiles north.  Probably just "scratches on the paint" as Ike would say.

Yes, the allies do have mines also.  Seems a DD fast transport to Finschaven ran into an allied minefield.  4 DDs reportedlu hit.  Too bad for bad weather as the allied LBA sat at base and let the TF get away. Screen says type 93 mine which is a jap mine. Ike may have ran into his own minefield.

Ike lost one destroyer so far to make this happen. Not sure it is worth his effort.

Today was thunderstorms and not much air action.  Looks if Ikesan99 is moving Back to the slot w/ a BB TF. I promised no taunting while Ike is on vacation.

No taunting?  Why?  It's something he does often as he tries to play head games with his opponent.

RE: Marginal victory

Post by bigred »

I am currently sitting on a marginal victory.  Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.  8-8-43.  Mark this date.   I continue to play on as does Ikesan99.  My objective is a decisive victory.  If I make a mistake I could lose the game.  Ike has landed a recon unit at Lunga.

It appears that keeping one's opponent off balance at this point would be of great value.  A major conflict over a base would bleed the IJN or irreplaceable assets so if it occurs the Allies can't afford to blink, even if it appears to take them to the edge.

Finschafen appears ripe for picking.
