RE: Gutted pilot exp levels
So far it is working out very good. There has not been many real A2A fights with big formations but was A2A we have seen is not that bloody. You may get few pilots getting shot down but not like 20 I have seen in some games.

Sorry for the delay in the action Ron. I hope to be back up and on-line in a few days.
What did you think of the pilots experience?

RE: TF1 where are you!
I think the pilot experince level for the Japanese are too low for the new ones. They look like the ones you get for the Dutch after you go through their monthly allotment of 4. [X(]
If this is the way it is going to be, then a few Japanese CV's will need to take a training cruise over lightly defended bases to get thier experience up to around 50, before they go into "Harms Way." [:D]

So you saw the experience of the replacement pilots I am getting. We are still in the testing of the modifications Ron has made. It will put a different spin on how often carriers show up to fight I would have to guess.

But this was the point in making the experience drop. I can't believe that the average pilot is in the 70s. I'm thinking this should be in the high 20s, low 30s. And, carriers historically took alot of time working up their airgroups, something completely redundant in the stock game as experience levels are too frigging high IMO.

I would think that the experience levels being between 30 to 35 would be good.
I wonder how many of those in the "Teens" will survive their first carrier landing?? [:D]

Night Time Surface Combat at 34,71

This is the battle I bitched about off Kendari...what nonsense. It is nonsense because the combat model is ass backwards. 80% of the ships in these two TFs were not "spotted", "fired upon" or "engaged". While this may seem real to some, the lack of any pursuit model is woefully felt. Yet there is one for armoured units!!! [8|] What really reveals the weakness of the design is the inability of a TF to detect, engage or be engaged by all the ships in the TFs brought to battle (they are in close proximity to both friendly and enemy ships in a small portion of a sixty mile hex)BUT a single TF will catch every seperate TF within a sixty mile hex without fail. This is the frustrating part, the complete lack of any consistency or sensibility.

Some examples of the A2A occuring over Changsha, China. Too early to judge but the A2A seems less bloody with the few changes to this mod.
