Thanks for posting those shots of CMBO to remind me how horrible CM looked.  Just about every graphic thing in that game bothered me in some way.  On the contrary, PCK is very graphically appealling to me.  Just shows there's no accounting for taste. [;)]

By CMBB, the graphics had improved greatly. With modding, the effect still holds up (picture below).

Graphics are indeed overrated- to a point.

A game's graphics should be immersive to the point that you you can tell what the terrain is, and so that the player gets a good sense of "you are there".

PzCK's greaphics are pretty decent. The vehicles are good. The buildings as well. Trees are the things I dislike in the game to the point of trying my hand at modding them. Everything could just be taken one step further as far as non-informational detail as well.

CM's "doodads" are great at livening up a map, and also denote terrain areas such as "brush". PzCK's maps don't need so much eye candy in the open areas of maps, but in certain areas where cover like "brush" exists, it would be nice to see it's there graphically.

Graphics are over rated...IF at the expense of features and bug squashing...which thinking about it makes them pretty much over rated all the time...I've just contradicted myself ! [&o]

It was really nice to get a proper tutorial campaign this time. That was a severe deficiency in Winter Storm.

Took a while to creak my way through boot camp, but now I'm rolling with 14th Panzer Division. I foresee a very violent spanking in my immediate future...[:D]

I totally agree - and even modded CMBO looks much better, but the poster I was replying to specified unmodded CMBO so I figured a reminder was in order. [8D]

Thanks, we'll take this into account.

The trees could be done better but the dead cows and being able to make out the ax lying next to the chopping block are really good eye candy. The game has run like a top. I had German PG's in halftracks get caught in a arty barrage the carnage was impressive. A couple of ht's turned to scrap and a PG squad eliminted. I also get a kick out of seeing the road wheels blow off a Tiger when it gets killed [;)] Yup another satisfied custome [8D]

I'd like to see artillery fire leave some kind of impact on the terrain, even if it is only aesthetic.

I'm wondering what graphics setting people are using from the settings menu? At low on my 64mb GPU the game really looks poor. Still better than the CMBO shots above.

I'm running at 1680x1050 widescreen with 4x antialiasing and 4x aniso. I hate jaggies but going from the 4x to 8x didn't make any noticeable difference in this game so I dropped it back down to 4.

It's certainly nothing close to jaw-dropping but it works. We could use some better trees, at the least.

I do too. They look more real than in some other games with better graphics.
