No I don't. I went for this older title for the modern specs, so as to provide an alternative to kids and their endless first/third person shooters...

I did look at the WW2 version as well though. Do you have it? Would be interested to learn how it plays [:)]

just ordered it yesterday. i've watched a lot of the youtube videos. seems like there maybe some changes but i don't have
the modern game. i'm not familiar with modern weapons.

i may pick it up though. i like the game play.

what's your opinion of warfighter? favorable?

i was looking for a solitaire WW2 game and i like the coop aspect like pandemic. i like the weapons model and replayability seems
high.

I haven't really had a chance to delve into Warfighter. I liked the modern concept, looked at the rules, looks like tons of fun, especially once the rulebook don't have to be consulted all the time. [:)]

Look what I found at BoardGameGeek, and for a mere tenner! (As it was missing the Mag, but has rules, situations, counters and map). Order placed! [:)]

And here it is! I was able to get a PDF version of the S&T#61 and printed a booklet out of it at the office.

Another SPI game I had looked for longest time was Hof Gap, part two of the Central Front series. In theory (meaning, they are designed for it, but I don't think I have the table / floor space for it), all five games can be put together for one massive West German Plains 1980s war game.

Finally found a copy, this is so great . Now I just need to quit my day job so I can put the monster together!

Ah, the good ol' days.

Although I never played those particular S&T/SPI games, I owned and played so many others. My SPI collection maxed out at ~80 games. In a fit of stupidity (during a period of major life changes), I sold the lot of them in the late 1970s for a mere pittance. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

I bought the Warfighter Special Forces version a while ago, I was hoping my kids would get interested on it as well. I'll need to give it another go, maybe get more eye candy like some cool figures.

Lots of additional card decks etc available, haven't gotten into those yet.

Looking forward to see that in the new CS Cold War game [:)]

Here's the five maps of the Central Front saga on my floor. I need a bigger table!

The distance between Hamburg and Munich, as crow flies, is some 600 clicks. That's 2400 hexes in CS scale. Assuming a width of 200 clicks, and a neat 600km x 200km grid, that would be 800 x 2400 hexes = 1 920 000 hexes. [:'(]

Here's the map plan of the original plan.

What they were able to produce were the maps #2 (North German Plain), #4 (BAOR), #6 (Fifth Corps), #8 (Hof Gap), and #10 (Donau Front).

10,000!![&o]

I'm at 375 with this one.

Lets see 10,000 - 375 = 9,675.

Guess I have a goal to shoot for...

BTW how is your home life crossroads? I'm guessing you have computers and board games setup in every room with the main room dubbed "The Gaming Shack"!

Cheers!

I wish!

I have one corner of our "Man Attic", with kids playstation gear taking over the other side. I do play some solos on our dining room table once and a while, who doesn't.

For any serious board gaming I visit the local club like any other mere mortal. Having a cat in the house doesn't help I guess [:'(]

I have to agree with you on the cats!

They can be and often are devastating when it comes to board games!!

Not only do you have to set the game up and play but you have to revisit my 10 points on Cats and Board games:

1) Have to play the game when you get time.

2) Memorize where every cardboard counter is (Cat damage control).

3) Make sure the door to the room is always closed when your there.

4) Hope the door stays closed when your not there. A lot can happen in 9 hours of work.

5) Explain to the wife why the door staying closed is high on my list of priorities important to me in our relationship.

6) When you come home and find the door open, pray that the cat(s) didn't see it.[X(]

7) When you realize praying has failed resign yourself to the fact that you have more work to do and less gaming.

8) Be calm and understanding and don't get angry or explode at the cat(s), they can't help it they are ignorant to our ways of life. They really want to be outside but
we force them to be indoors. (Think about this a little bit, maybe you can devise a plan for the cats going out and the wife buying into it).

9) Revisit #5 above.

10) Test yourself against #2 above. "I'm almost sure that the counter for the battalion of Panthers was in hex KK-27??" Oh well, I believe it was close, just go ahead and play.

Then came computers and made that exercise all go away...LOL!

The hobby of Wargaming with all its pitfalls, trials and tribulations but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Cheers!

11) when you walk in the room and the cat is curled up asleep in the middle of a 16 board ASL game, whatever you do, be very quiet and walk over, carefully lift said cat, telling it how cute it is, and place it outside the door, close, turn around and cross your fingers as to how much it scooched around before it actually laid down!!! TRUE STORY!![X(]
