For you boardgame fans out there...
Some treats coming your way! Alan R. Arvold's been busy converting his Ode to Arab-Israeli Wars situations to CS: Middle East! And they are to be included in the imminent 1.02 as a special mod!

With the inclusion of these Ode to AIW scenarios in the forthcoming CMSE 1.02, the game will have well over 100 scenarios in total. With still more in pipeline for the future!

RE: For you boardgame fans out there...
My scenario count at the moment seems to be 137.
I am not sure if I have omitted something in my beta folder, or if I have additional stuff there.
The final number should be there, or thereabouts, though!

Right you are!

Robert@roberto /cygdrive/f/Games/Matrix Games/Middle East/middle_east/scenarios

36
The first figure, 92, the number of .scn files, omits the AIW scenarios (because I haven't enabled that mod yet in my setup). So including the AIW scenarios, yes, the total number of scenarios available will be (in CSME 1.02 final) 130+ and climbing!
(The .scl files are, most or all of them, simply .scn files repackaged in LCG format.)

Look what I found at BoardGameGeek, and for a mere tenner! (As it was missing the Mag, but has rules, situations, counters and map). Order placed! [:)]

Boy oh boy, the same seller was selling a copy of Avalon Hill's D-Day. The parcel arrived today, and it turns out the box was of the original first print 1961 stock!

The October War was in very neat condition as well, with some of the counters still unpunched. But first, I will need to try out the D-Day with one my sons. Requires a bribery of a sort I am sure, but will be well worth it!

D-Day was the first war boardgame to use the hex grid we now take for granted. Before that, the boardgame maps had a rectangular grid, something like "Gettysburg" here (picture copyright of Boardgamegeek), published in 1958.

Did a quick solo play of a D-Day landing at Calais, instead of Normandy. My attempt at invading Fortress Europa there did not end any better than the original Dieppe landing of 1943... [X(]

German Set-up
BGG forum suggested a historical set-up for the Germans, so I tried to replicate that to my best. How cool, that already in 1961 the game designer included unit markings for both Allied and Axis chits. To their places they went. The mapboard I have doesn't have Lettering / Numbering available though, so I sort of winged it when it comes to those units which were not set-up in any of the many cities in the map.

Hello demjansk, I've done my shopping mostly at BoardGameGeek, they've got a great marketplace there, with Paypal typically available. The only thing is there's so many games out there...

Certainly! Just don't blame me if your shopping cart ends up heavier than originally planned for. It is an amazing resource for (almost) any and all boardgames ever published [:)]

And here it is! I was able to get a PDF version of the S&T#61 and printed a booklet out of it at the office.

First, a roll call.
Buying a second hand game from net, and quite an old set at that, you never know how it turns out. I was happy to find out it was another 100% availability. First I thought there was a single Arab BMD missing, but turned out it was hidden under the magazine. Ha.
