I'm on beginner with no Allied bonus, and you are on intermediate, and I don't know if that affects tech levels, but if it does then it sounds backwards ?

Started my campaign with new Beta build as the Allies this time. Playing it on Expert +2 experience for AI, FOW on. So far so good. Germans took out Poland in two turns.

Will post more as I progress.

Should a unit be able to do regular movement and then in the same turn use "Operational" movement? I have noticed that I can not do this with my units, but I saw a German HQ do it last night. I do not see anything in the manual that says you can't, but I have never seen it before until last night.

It seemed especially odd since the HQ moved into Dutch territory one hex South of Groningen capturing the territory and town, sat there while other units moved and attacked, then later in the turn I see it Operate away from Groningen (I heard the train sound when it moved) and it was gone.

*Edit* I didn't want to post this in the bug section yet as I am looking for clarification first due to not being certain if it is a bug or not.

It's a bug, no unit should be able to carry out an action and then operate, or vice versa.

Thanks Bill. Might want to also add that in the manual as it doesn't say anything about it, even though I thought that was the case. I'll post it to the bug section and send a save game to Hubert so he can take a look at it.

I agree, I hadn't realised we didn't explain it in the Manual until you posted about this, so I've now done that. [:)]

In fact, all your feedback has helped add to the Manual in other ways too. Keeps me busy! [:D]

I recommend against SS, too many people would take issue with it.

Someone will do a mod the minute it comes out for the SS anyway.

It is the same with simulations. The swastika is always left out.

We should let them, but Fury Software or Matrix may not want to engage in that controversy as a business.

Thanks for the detailed description as I was then able to track this down, consider it fixed [:)]

1940, playing as Allies, Expert +2.

I have noticed for about the past 10 or so turns in which I have been strategically bombing German resources and secondary supply centers, that the message doesn't pop up anymore after a successful attack stating how many MPPs Germany lost.

I still see a "-1" or "-3" pop up above the target after a successful bombing raid, but that message which used to pop up telling you "Germany loses 2 MPPs to bombing" like it does when your subs raid a trade route has not appeared once since this new 1.07 version for me.

I am also unsure if this a bug as this is my first go with the Allies in this beta, but I thought when 1.07 was first released the Allied nations all had their icon on the diplomacy screen (at least I was sure I saw them before hot fixes). All I have now seems to be the UK.

I can't seem to be able to repeat this, is it repeatable if you restart a new game? From a custom campaign perhaps?

I just ran the first turn of a new game. The Allied country symbols that are showing on the Allies first turn are:

1.UK
2.France
3.Poland

I suspect that the U.S. and USSR country symbols will show up as a few turns progress?

Also I am not playing with a custom game or any modified files.

1.UK

3.Poland

I've got the same thing here on turn 1. On the Axis side, we only see Germany until Italy is actively in, so maybe it's the same on the Allied side [only those involved are shown].

I will mention a small point, that if we don't know what flags are, there is no way to know what country is what, and that can be frustrating. Maybe a mouse over on the flags that tell the country ?

I don't know if this was an intentional removal or a bug, but I've always favored removing this message as if you carry out a lot of Strategic Bombing it gets a bit tedious.

The loss numbers appearing above the target are hopefully good enough?

I have no problem with there being no message, just thought I would point it out incase this wasn't done intentionally. Being able to see the numbers above the target is okay with me. Would it be possible to show the aggregated MPP loss caused from Strategic Bombing on the end turn summary like it is for submarine ops?

I might be remembering wrong but is it just super tiny numbers? If so they need to be larger numbers with MPP after it. But I could be remembering wrong and I don't have a game situation I can bring up to verify so apologies if I sound like an idiot here :)
