I wasn't talking about restructuring the points values. The thing is you don't take what you are given, you buy what you want. Bit different ... Why don't the US have Elite armoured units for example? Heavy Panzers are always +10.
Anyway I wasn't trying to cause a stir. I'll just butt out, go and make a nice cup of tea and dream about 17 pdrs

I agree with the idea of platoon vs platoon. A one on one tank battle often turns into pure luck, rather than the skill of the commander. As for scouts, of any kind, I say no. This was conceived as a way to find the "Top Tank" and driver, not the best SP:WAW player. If we allow scouts, then what kind of scouts? Where do we draw the line then? No, let it be a purely tank battle.
What, me worry?

Squirmer, man, I was just poking fun, and mainly at M4(E8only)Jess, and Hawk. Don't you dare butt out, that isn't what this forum is about!;)
Also, Bernie has a good point...

Here here...
Squirmer, please don't take the posts as personal attacks...they are not meant that way at all.
Goblin, myself and a few of the Katz Commanders like to razz and ruffle the feathers of the M4 crowd....just to fire things up a bit and make things interesting.
Personally....I don't care if its 1 on 1 or platoon on platoon...I know my Katz will serve me well regardless.

Do you mean that no one at these forums is safe? Because if you do, then my qualification applies also...:p

Re: Flying Monkeys
No Assault Tanks. I mean regular PanzersIII's through Panzer IV's and Panthers and Kingtigers. Dude I've been playing this game since 94.......
And it's a tactic I see more than one Opponent use. I know how to use it too ,but I tend to drive my armor deliberately to their Flanks to get a 1 hex close assault shot to his side armor rating. I lose many tanks due to his support units but 9 times out of ten my armor will surive his first shot and then kill him. If I am unluckey enough not to kill him and I have another unit to assault from the front then I do. And 9 times out of ten His armor will sit there with their backs too me.
Then they die a dishonorable death.
All because now it's my turn and he is defending.
PS: The figures above are only a rough estimate. But I see it often enough.

How long are we going to debate all this? *sigh*
I think we should stick with the original armor choices: favorite Kat (Panther, Tiger) verses any M4 the opposition chooses. A section or two of each is more than enough to make the point. I don't think cluttering up the field with platoons of armor will add anything. Recon, or other support, just clouds the issue; let's keep to the basics.
My only concern is that there doesn't seem to be a lot of people in the M4 group. Is it that there just isn't enough support for the poor creature, that no one except the die-hards think it's a worthwhile piece of armor, or are they just queezy about shooting their own for the play offs?
Things I'd like to know:
IMNSHO it should be at least two tanks. If we use two sections, keep all the Kat lovers happy with one section of Panthers and one of Tigers. Start positions, armor and the maps need to be the same for each fight on both sides although this could change for each round of the eliminations. For the final M4/Kat fight a new map or starting positions would make it where combatants would have to be adaptable as well as lucky.
I've been ready for this series since the idea was first proposed. Now me want to kill something. Me want to earn wings for banner.

Things I'd like to know:
- Final number of vehicles
- Number of turns
- Has someone agreed to set up the scenario
- Will it be 1 tank, 1 section, or 2 sections each

Units
I think it will either be two sections or two platoons And maybe two different types of Med. calibur or one type of med. and one type of large calibur. There's nothing writen in stone yet..... But if you look at the other Messages you'll see what has been discussed so far.

How about a deadline
If we set a sign-up deadline and fix the starting date for the competion to begin we'll know how many people are on what side. Since it's supposed to be Side vs same side for the eliminations we can use concensus from each side to figure out what we're fighting with.
We started this on the tird, so why not use 30 April as the sign-up date?
