Creates an interesting problem for the Axis player if they are planning on trying for victory over the UK Merchant fleet.
Declaring war on Norway gives the UK a much needed boost to their Merchant fleet to keep it operational until their Escorts get leveled up enough to be effective. Looks like Italy going to war with Greece will also get the UK a nice bonus.

Norway fleet can be effectively killed with 2-3 turns of sub attacks. But yea it is still extra stuff

You need all the production locations to take them out.

Madrid, Bilbao and Barcelona are the 3 production locations. I captured them all in one turn as stated above and Spain surrendered.

I assume Madrid by Portugal, the other 2 by invasion? What year also?

Madrid was captured by an armour from Portugal. Bilbao was captured by invasion and a para from Portugal. Barcelona was captured by a unit in Southern France; but I could have done it by invasion as well. This was in 43 I think. My situation was unusual in that I had invaded Southern France in 42, rather than Italy. I thought it would offer an easier route. But my opponent bottled me up. My problem was that although I had lots of units they were hampered by the lack of supply/ports. So the only reason I conquered Spain was because I needed its ports; especially Barcelona.

Yep, but the Norway bonus is equivalent to almost 500 production points now not needed by the UK and they get it without a time delay.
Greece is less but still would have required the UK to buy two Merchant equivalents for another 200 production points.
I haven't found subs, at least early in the war, that effective that they could take 48 merchants in 2-3 turns. Surface raiders get those kind of kills but not subs.

Surface raiders may be a little easier to spot with the new current 2 of 5 chances to up their Naval ID. With two +1s you can have a 1 in 4 chance of engagement. Three +1s and you are looking at 1 in 3 chances of engagement. Remembering too this is in open sea starting with very low recon level.

So far I am having zero luck spotting surface raiders. Current game is into turn 48 with only one combat with a surface raider that just did minor damage.

I'm curious how the random values are seeded in this program, if they are done when you first generate the game, every time you open your game file or for every naval combat a new random number is generated from a newly created seeded table?? Is the random object created by Unity or C#?? Only Alvaro can answer those questions. I have games where on 7 tries per turn, I never get a surface raider hit and then some games, the second or third try all the time. Mind you these are extremes, most of the time it's around the middle. That said, I've been working on early strategies and a strong build for the Axis so I will only play 20 turns. Most of the times I've been pretty lucky in that if I'm going after the surface raider, I eventually will get hits on it within 3 to 5 attempts. Sometimes I might go a turn or two without engagement.
I still haven't gotten close to a build like Battlevonwar in his AAR[&o]. I'm following his AAR closely. Looks like a very good and interesting match up.

Unity Engine auto-reseeds based on the computer clock each time the game is started.
