Our first counterattack against a 3=3 Panzer, just outside Smolensk. Equal trade for AFVs, very successful.

And the North. I am building a line a few hexes up.

Fairly slow turn in the south, not much action. Kiev fell, despite holding the best unit in the red army - our beautiful 15 CV Mot NKVD Rifle div. It held the first attack, then routed the second. Very disappointing.

Very slight pushes in the Centre, and the panzers are now firmly protected from any potential counterattacks.

The north saw the most action, with the Narva line being overrun.

T8: Crimea remains safe, and Dneprovovovktosks falls. Somehow.

Like seriously, I'd appreciate it if anyone could explain this result.

The first attack held completely fine.

The second attack, however, despite a having the CV advantage our units routed?

Slow pushes in the Centre. His mot/arm elements have green fuel from what I can see, so I need to be wary.

Finally the north.

It should be noted that we're playing with automated air on (by accident, I forgot to turn it off when I set the game up) and so far it has done pretty much nothing besides set up random air superiority with like, 2 air groups. It also occasionally does random recon.

All in all, not something I'd play with again.

the AI Assist is (sensibly) very averse to locating to supply poor airbases.

If you want it to deploy forward, get the local depot system up and running.

Also worth checking they are on 'follow' not 'hold' stances?

I suspect what happened at Dnepropetrovsk was a combination of two things; the Flammpanzer battalion participating and your defending divisions having a lot of damaged elements by the time of the second attack. Being unable to sustain another round of combat, those divisions routed away.

They're on flexible. I started building more depots and airbases on said depots.

I think that's probably it, there were also a lot of disrupted elements.
