Air spotting of subs in v1.5 - too easy ??

I know I'm late to this thread,and I hope this is not considered O/T by some,but accounts of German sub skippers indicate the thing they were most concerned about was being detected by enemy aircraft,day or night..They felt they were forced to stay submerged in the day time (missing the chance to race on the surface to sighted convoys),and they feared being caught on the surface at night by those planes with the spotlights.
With "fog of war" on,I suspect a lot of those "sighting reports" on the map are "last seen units",and do not reflect the actual position of individual subs.For this reason,many of the reports are "ship was not observed"(by the attacking a/c).
IMHO 1 plane on ASW is at least as effective as 5 De's on the same mission because they can cover more area,and see further in the same time.
(My entry does not address the number of ships which should be allowed on an ASW team).

A lot of those sighting reports are being hit by bombs from 4 engine bombers.[;)]
