Unless it was equiped with long range radar for patrol or is simply used to transport VIPs I can't think of why an AF would have them.

Ok, my plot for world domination is now to first conquer Japan. Given what I just saw of their Navy it shouldn't be hard. I figure a rubber dingy, an M-16 and a loud speaker system playing the Village People ought to do it. [:D]

having worked with and spent a little time with the Jap navy -they aint no ametaurs -and boy, do they know how to keep a ship in tip top shape.
Their version of the Arliegh Burke is simply AWESOME[:)]
Well, the comment was intended for the Navy recruitment ad, not the actual Navy itself. Im sure that their Navy, like most other things in Japanese culture, is built on a tradition of meticulous excellence. Still, if I were an enemy looknig at that ad, I might think it is the right time to attack. [:D]
