That picture looks good but most time you can´t get 40 bombers in the air. [;)]

A True statement as the Allied LBA is conducting a 2 front war. In thunderstorms the attack on Rabaul continues. Every day we bomb Rabaul and the IJA loses 500 men. Note this combat report. 533/6 men =88 VPs per day. The rules state 6 IJA squads =1 VP. So is the formula 533/6=88 or 533/11/6=8vps w/ 11men in a traditional squad.

With NO cap over Rabaul the allies are killing 1000 IJA troops per day.  What will Ikesan99 do in response to this sucking chestwound of a VP Bleed???  The allies may not need to make another invasion. Just sit back and respond.

How do you accumulate 100+ B17s so late in the campaign? In every game I've played I struggled to keep 20 or so operational.

Perhaps I'm too aggressive.

Wow at this rate in another 2 1/2 months Ike will suffer a defeat on the scale that he's not used to.  [X(]  I wonder if he'll risk an op to try and recoup some VPs?  [&:]  If he doesn't the slow bleed will only become a steady flow.  [:(]  If he does he'll have to risk a superior Allied force once it concentrates.  [:(]  This will be interesting.

Ikesan99 has sat back and chilled his heels and I have taken everything he gave me plus alittle extra. He still has sunk the ESSEX and crippled the Yorktown. In return I have one major IJN ship sunk(Chikuma).

Is it good to be humbled???

With almost 30,000 points in the game the loss of a little of this or a little of that is not enough to move the percentage of the whole. You can see that in the scoring. The only time the % moves is after you take a base and develope it.

If you really believe you can sit and bomb me to move the % then I have no worries now!! [:D]

The combat report shows ¨suppressed¨ squads as ¨dead¨, but they are not dead.

You´re not killing 1,000 a day and I think you will need more invasions, and I think they will need to be multi division operations to be successful. That will need a massive amount of shipping.

The real question is A) is the game design flawed or
B) is IKEsan99's defensive plan flawed?

Is Island hopping an effective strategy?

Tocaff has first hand experience w/ my strategy. He might give u some tips.

The answer is ¨A¨

Unless one enjoys playing a Pacific War game where The Allies and Japanese never have to fight each other.

What kind of scoring system would allow the allies to win while never having to actually invade anything?...a flawed one.

It´s a bad scoring design.

How is that skewed if it was in fact the strategy the allies employed during the campaign in the Solomons and New Guinea, successfully I might add.

From 8-9 to 9-14 My VP spread has moved from +500 to +1500 VPs.  I have attacked Finchaven and Russell Island with additional IJA troop losses.  Ikesan may be correct that my Bombing runs are not producing VPs, only suppressing the IJA.  As I respect Ike and his forum leadership I have deferred to him when posting any Intell charts, which his custom is to publish once a month.  Because this bombing for VPs may be an issue I could start pubilshing the intel list daily along w/ the combat report so as to establish a history for research as to the real effect of the bombing.

The Allies couldn´t sit back and bomb an area to destroy all the Japanese. If they could have, they would have, but they had to go in and clear these people on the ground.
