Marshall Islands:
My Vals were set to Night Attack hoping to catch some CVEs and it worked... partially.
Night Air attack on TF, near Ailinglaplap at 133,117
Weather in hex: Light rain
Raid detected at 62 NM, estimated altitude 19,000 feet.
Estimated time to target is 23 minutes
Japanese aircraft
D3A1 Val x 12
Japanese aircraft losses
D3A1 Val: 2 damaged
D3A1 Val: 1 destroyed by flak
Allied Ships
CVE Prince William
CVE Sangamon
CVE Chenango
So my Vals flew at night and went right for the CVEs !!! Unfortunately they all missed. A single 250kg hit on one of those CVE has a decent chance of disabling air ops for that ship.. They are a threat to those lightly armored ships. So we will see if Nomad does anything. The Vals are still set to night attack again this turn.

My two newest CVs are 1 and 3 days from being finished with their upgrades - then they can join the fleet. Another CV arrives in like 12 days and another one behind it in less than 30 days - with another CVL between the two. A7M2 Sams just flipped to 12/43 !!! They are on track to be in production sometime in late july.

O16 is sighted in the Straights of Malacca and hammered by DD Sagiri. Multiple near misses and two direct hits for O16 to the surface just as DD Sagiri runs out of depth charges !! After several sprays of 25mm fire into the sub, it slips beneath the waves and a crushing noise is heard !!
Marshall Islands:

As my SC TF moved southeast towards Ponape for some reason it separated from its CV TF escorts. As an ill advised time as allied CVs west of Ponape spotted them and launched an attack. Strange in many ways... The attack consisted of only 69 bombers against multiple BBs and escorts. No fighter escort. In two waves the enemy bombers landed numerous bombs on BB Kongo starting some fires. The ship is fine and has no danger of currently sinking. My CVs reacted towards the enemy but didn't do anything. I am truly at my wits end on CV behavior.
