How long for an AI?

I guess count me as the person who will not buy without an AI. Only an AI has the patience to teach a complete noob the ins and outs.

I really thought this might be the game to finally get me into WiF, but without an AI I will have to stay away.

Play with yourself. Maybe I should say "against yourself"!!

I'm not very patient though.

How much patience does it take to sit through 19 interactive tutorials vs. playing an AI that can't compete anyway in a game of this complexity?

Do you want to learn how to lose or how to win?

That's unfortunate, as I'm sure there are plenty of experienced players who would be happy to take a newb under their wing to help the available player pool grow. At least that's what I'm counting on!

I just wish they could have gotten some kind of AI in before release though. I understand the complexity of trying to do so, but I'm just not sure that I would ever play against a human alone.

Are there still plans to eventually get an AI in the game?

My understanding is that an AI will be released later. Even so, if you ever get halfway good with the game an AI will probably not be much of a challenge. You'll want real opponents anyway.

Is PBEM implemented in the game? I'm not familiar with the rules of the game, just curious if it will lend itself to PBEM easily, or if there would be too many handoffs... I can't imagine using the online version for such a monster game....

I just moved the PBEM thread to the top of the forum. You will find an answer to your question there.[:)] In fact, you will find many answers.[:(]

Just a rumour, but I hear Matrix has recently beta tested software that checks poster's I.P. addresses, pseudonyms, usernames and all other possible identifiers to ensure that all those who claim they'll never buy without an AI will in fact be prevented from purchasing the game until the AI is released.

One more step toward total customer satisfaction! [;)]

LOL, that would serve those brats right.

As for AI, play against warspite1. I mean, how much more artificial intelligence could you hope for.

I have owned WIF board game for ever. It matters not if MWIF has AI, it is a MUST own. Just like the dozens of monster board games I own, most never played once. I just have to have them.

My money is on Orm also, IF he can pull himself away from Super Bowl reruns.[;)]

The only thing Orm is drooling over is watching our NHL hockey league playoffs and hoping some day Sweden might have a hockey team, a real one[:D]

Darn, I always wondered what you looked like. I sorta imagined this:

Instead you look eerily like Homer Simpson. Odd that.
