You kept shock attacking at Saipan against high level forts. This will increase your casualties hugely and has less chance of lowering the forts than deliberate attacks. ONLY use SA when you have much more AV than the enemy or forts are lower than 3, or you have tanks and he has little in the way of AT weapons.

Thanks for the info.

I had 7 tank battalions in the fight but against jungle terrain I dont know how effective they are anyway.

Part of the end of the scenario I was attempting to take Saipan fast before I needed the other 2 divisions enroute. If it would have worked I might have been able to divert them and attempt to also take Peleliu before the end of the scenario. That didnt happen so I will have to make myself happy with what I got and a better than 5 - 1 victory... Life is hard ;]


Overall I did better but I still need to work on HQ's and Chain of Command, support units, etc. I never even got a corps HQ up to the front until nearly the end of the game.
