He will have lots of CAP and AA over his aircraft manufacturing cities. Perhaps hitting HI is the way to hurt the most?

At this stage of the game, the strategic bombing is a diversion...to get Japan to spread out their fighters. I lack the size 9 runways I will need to launch large strikes.... I think this is the proper decision, i.e. dispersal of Japans fighter strength, rather than waiting for a first massed strike. To get the maximum dispersal we need to threaten everywhere...industry in Korea and China, deep strikes past Osaka.
I believe Japan lacks the 12cm AAA upgrade, and all the AAA units that roll in around March to April to counter the B29. The clock is ticking...
Ultimately Korea will be vulnerable to Corsair sweeps and heavy daytime raids...same holds true for Kyushu. You can sweep with corsairs out to 10 hexes I believe from flattops.
A potential landing on Korea is not to be ruled out in the future, cutting it in half...
Re: Spanking Lowpe (NJP72 vs Lowpe (A))
I looked at Keijo....size 9 runway so it most likely will be the first HB daytime strike combined with sweeping CV Corsairs once Ningpo is built up. Although it has good manpower c30 so a night time strike for fires there might make a lot of sense.BBfanboy wrote: Fri Jun 21, 2024 11:44 am Interesting - I wonder if Keijo is protected as well as the Homeland ...
Port Arthur is in range too (21 hex), AF8 and has manpower in the teens.
So many good targets.

A technical detail to check on and if this is still true, my recommendation is to neutralize it and not to invade.

The WITP AE community remains very vibrant (arguably even more so now), but the vast majority of players have migrated to Youtube and especially discord. I myself, despite having posted frequently here in the past, have done so as well. Nevertheless, it is still nice to see AARs in the old format still going here. There are some advnatages to posting in the forum that you don't get in discord, notably a more accessible and permanent record.
Cheers.
My apologies in advance to you Lowpe for taking space in your AAR on this topic. Since both JohnDilworth and CB have asked, please allow me to give a quick answer.
You can access the discord (adminstered by Jochen) through this link (which expires in 7 days): https://discord.gg/hWVEdTcC
Within that discord server (think of it as a forum of sorts), each player has their own channel in which they post their AARs.

Putting this on, so I don't forget ...Canton air defense is at 30k and 8k. I want to sweep them out, pulverize the base, sink the shipping (in port and in task forces) and not lose too many planes.
