Hi all,

Nik's in hiding alright. The AVG exists no more........

Mandalay once more saw a series of intense air battle. Over the 2 days 23 Oscars, 13 P40s, 11 Hurricanes and 3 Zero's were lost.

In total the Allies lost 30 planes vs 28 Japanese over the 2 days. An example of the action:

Day Air attack on Mandalay , at 33,30

Japanese aircraft
A6M2 Zero x 22
G4M1 Betty x 27
Ki-43-Ib Oscar x 58
Ki-21 Sally x 26
Ki-49 Helen x 9
Ki-46-II Dinah x 3

Allied aircraft
Hurricane II x 8
P-40B Tomahawk x 18

Japanese aircraft losses
A6M2 Zero: 1 destroyed
G4M1 Betty: 8 damaged
Ki-43-Ib Oscar: 15 destroyed, 2 damaged
Ki-21 Sally: 1 destroyed, 7 damaged
Ki-49 Helen: 3 damaged

Allied aircraft losses
Hurricane II: 6 destroyed
P-40B Tomahawk: 7 destroyed, 5 damaged

Nik's been trying night bombing with Blenheims against Ranggon and Forts against Rabaul. Everytime a failure. 3 x Blenheim were lost due to flak over the 2 days.

hardly....meerely reorganizing after kicking Japanese tail all over the Burmese countryside.


Silversides is fine. Japanese ASW is pitiful.....the crew took the opportunity to mix some protein drinks from the slight shaking effect of badly placed DC's.

Hi all,

The calm before the next storm continues..........

Little across the theatre. Nik bombs Rabaul at night with Forts from PM. No damage caused.

SS Cuttlefish is hunted throughout the 2 days by Japanese ASW forces SE of Truk. No hits sustained.

Who attempted a deep probe into the SRA recently during the Java operations and beat off the allegedly uber-torp'd Betties? ME!

Who lost a carrier during these operations? NOT ME! [:D]

I rock......and i can rock without hiding in port till 1943 as Allies.
