Helens and Sallies strike enemy troops at Tavoy inflicting minimal damage.
Allied troops attack at Tavoy but are repulsed !! Very surprised by this, but the quality of enemy troops here must be low for my minimal defenders to repulse them.

Thailand:
RN TF bombards my troops at Tavoy inflicting over 200 casualties. Seeing this I thought for sure the base would fall this turn, but it did not.

RN P-47 sweep the skies over Pisanuloke.
Helens and Sallies bomb the enemy troops at Tavoy inflicting minimal damage.

I airlifted the bulk of the 79th Garrison Battalion out of Tavoy yet we still held the base. These Indian troops must really be poor quality.

I finished airlifting the 79th Garrison Battalion out of Tavoy as well as a good chunk of the JNAF BF there. So when the Indian attack came it was no surprise they captured the base.

Sub Warfare:
IJN SS I-168 surfaces and engages an xAKL with her deck gun, landing 19 hits between the 10cm and 13.2mm guns, leaving the target burning heavily.

A few minutes later I-168 also engages LCT-163 on the surface, landing 2 hits with her 10cm gun, leaving the LCT burning heavily.

I heard some sinking noises after the sub engagements and got confirmation in tracker that the LCT sunk - carrying at least 2 vehicles !! I think the xAKL probably sank as well.

Thailand:
RAF P-47 sweep the skies over Pisanuloke followed by bombers hammering two units there - the units are just finishing loading onto trains and are heading to Bangkok - I am hoping the bombers keep their targets and have the range to strike - unescorted - into Bangkok where I have about 250 fighters waiting for them.

China:
Enemy fighters sweep the skies near Kwangchowan which flipped back to Chinese control last turn. And then bombers followed hitting my troops in the open terrain.

I landed a small LCU at Kwangchowan and will take the base back this next turn.

My Sallies target the airfield at Hengyang today inflicting minor damage on it.

SRA:
US Fighters sweep and escort bombers attacking the IJA troops in the jungle near Sorong.
US Fighters sweep the skies over Dobo - Marines in their F4U-1 Corsairs.

Some Helens bombed the US Paratroopers who took Misool yesterday, inflicting decent damage to them.

South Pacific:
Enemy Fast Transport TF unloads at Satawal and capture the dot base. Enemy troops are from the 4th Marine Raider Battalion and the 43rd Aviation Base Force.

IJN Nells from Tinian flew down to say hi to the USN Fast Transport TF at Satawal. Most of the torpedoes - and a few bombs? - missed the nimble DDs and APDs, but we landed three torpedoes on three separate APDs sinking them. Unfortunately they did not have any troops on them - maybe a few supplies - but I am guessing the TF was empty by the time my Nells arrived. We lost 9 Nells to flak and ops. Not an even trade, but it will remind Nomad that he can't send unprotected TFs into my territory without paying a price. And 3 less APDs will limit future forays.

US fighters sweep the skies followed by bombers cratering the craters of Truk's airfield and landing a few hits on the port.

Some IJA Paratroopers landed and captured Batan Island. Going to start running convoys through this area and don't need to give Nomad free intel.

I ordered some Tojos to sweep the skies over Misool and we ran into some corsairs. It was not a good fight, my Tojos got beat up. Then my Helens flew right into the CAP while trying to bomb the paratroopers there :(

SRA:
I spotted a bunch of allied landing craft approaching Misool and wanted to hit them. The only thing I had nearby were some Tojo fighters, so I ordered 30 Tojos to Naval Attack and 15 to fly escort for them. Well the Naval Attacked happened but the escorts never showed so my Tojos got butchered by allied CAP. We did manage to sink 1 LCT though.

My Nells continue to punish the Marines at Sawatal.

The coming battle for Truk will be very interesting and I will learn a lot. My troops are well rested, well supplied and are taking cover behind level 9 forts. His first attack will dictate the battle for Truk I believe. I am shifting nav search all over the area, I would find it hard to believe he is here in force without the DeathStar nearby.

US bombers attacking Truk inflict no damage.
The US troops at Truk attack expecting much better support from the USN and USAAF. They run straight into the level 9 forts and are repulsed with heavy losses. They did not lower the fort level either. This attack was important to me - I think I can hold Truk without any reinforcements or risking my CVs. After the attack all of my units have low disruption (single digit) except for the Naval Fortress which has been withstanding constant bombing for a week and heavy fire from naval assets.

My remaining MTBs attacked the USN but failed to inflict any damage unfortunately. Three more MTBs was sunk during these encounters.

USN BBs bombard Truk and inflict some damage on the troops while taking no damage from the Naval Fortress. I am guessing he is bombarding from far out and its hard for my guns to hit at that distance.

USMC fighters sweep Truk followed by bombers hitting troops but inflicting no losses.

The US Army troops bombarded my troops at Truk inflicting minor casualties while my return fire destroyed one of the US units - not sure which - but will know next turn. But by the allied losses I am guessing its an artillery unit.

I lost another MTB and two midget subs at Truk this turn with nothing in return.

IJA troops bombard the US troops at Truk taking more losses than we inflicted. But it was just to get intel on the enemy forces and it looks like the 2nd USMC Artillery Battalion is the allied unit that was destroyed last turn.

Not much else happened this past turn other than my first 2 Shindens rolled off the line !! Once I have enough these will be deployed in Thailand to try to kill me some RAF bombers.

Thailand:
RAF fighters sweep the skies over Rahaeng again as enemy troops move towards the base. The base has been evacuated except for a single Thai Rgt. In need 3-4 days to finish the evac of Uttaradit as troops board the rail cars for fast movement to Bangkok. The British horde is two hexes away from Bangkok on the trails hiding in the jungles.

South Pacific:
My Nells from Tinian make some night time runs against allied ships at Truk but unfortunately all miss. Once more the report says they used torpedoes (and some torpedoes were expended from the air HQ) but all of the animations were bomb attacks.

US BBs and CAs bombarded Truk again inflicting no casualties and taking a few hits in return.
Marines fighters sweep Truk again followed by bombers targetting IJA troops but inflicting no losses. I know he is trying to increase fatigue and disruption in my troops at Truk, but so far the bulk of my troops are at less than 5 fatigue and 0 disruption.

SRA:
Helens made a night attack against the airfield and port at Sorong but got no hits and lost many planes to P-70 Havocs flying night CAP.

Allied troops land at Batjan and will capture the dot base next turn.

Sub Warfare:
SS I-170 located SS Golet and sunk her with a torpedo hit... First time we have attacked an enemy sub with a sub !!

Thailand:
Heavy air battle over Bangkok. 15 RAF Squadrons of P-47D25s sweep the skies over Bangkok - Five squadrons came in one by one, but then ten came in together. Overall I think my CAP did a wonderful job against a faster, higher flying enemy. We lost 68 Franks, 14 Sams and 12 Tojos (94 fighters) in exchange for 58 P-47s. While we lost nearly twice the aircraft we only lost 34 pilots.

The heavy bombing raids on Pisanuloke wiped out my defenders and I ordered some troops flown in but a Chindit unit appeared out of nowhere, crossing the river and captured the base. And I do mean out of nowhere - I went back several turns and they never once appeared on the map -- I had no idea they were there.

South Pacific:
Another invasion TF arrives at Truk - appearing to drop off only supplies. But they braved the guns of the Naval Fortress and the warships took a beating again.

Thailand:
Day Two of the air war over Bangkok is bloody as well. This time RAF Corsair IIs joined in the sweeps - a total of 2 Squadrons of them as well as 13 Squadrons of P-47s and 1 Squadron of P-38s sweep the skies running into my CAP. Once more I lost more aircraft (50 Franks, 27 Tojos, 17 5c Zeros and 13 Sams: 107 total) in exchange for 39 P-47s, 17 Corsair IIs and 10 P-38s (66 fighters). As before I only lost approx 30 pilots. I have pulled two Sentais back to regroup and brought in two fresh units of Tojos. I have also moved another unit of Franks into the theater and they will join in next turn.

Allied troops cross the river into Rahaeng and capture the base - a single Regiment of Thai troops was holding it.

South Pacific:
An allied bombardment TF - heavy with BBs - arrived at Truk and bombarded the base inflicting minimal casualties. The Naval Fortress fired back getting numerous hits...
