Edit: here's a link that's rather funny. They do some strange things across the river: http://people.csail.mit.edu/rahimi/helmet/

BTW, Nik - you boned me again! [:'(] I'm flying two Martlett II squadrons & I've lost 11 of them. The FAA units are all "British" nationality still so can't upgrade 'til May. I don't know if it's intentional but I like the idea of separate pilot pools for the RAF & the FAA. The problem is that Martlett II production doesn't start until Dec. 42. [:D]

lol....it was the "Experten" that boned ya......you were winning until the Abeville kids decided to wipe the Med with your cute FAA fighters. (Which now stands for "Frightened and Anhilated") [:D]

can most likely have it in your hands by later today. Already created the new devices and corrected the Albacore (and the Martlett and Sea Hurricane range)

I'm waiting to hear back from Fremen regarding what might be some missed planes for the increased 30mile hex endurance.....it 'looks' like some might still have 60mile hex values, such as the Stuka for example.

the exp boost seems to have brought new life to subs in the game while the ASW change has prevented any mass killings short of port camping

well i'm not sure what T's problem is, more so since he doesn't play any of my mods. [:D]

I can understand someone getting a little perturbed if they are about to or are in the process of starting a turn 1 and then get (yet another) announcement of a newer version. Keep in mind though, that this is a beta and i'm only one man just as Fremen is one man (along with Mifune). My orig intent was to just NM the game but as i explored it more and more i got more and more "into" it and wanted to fix things and improve things along the way as well. But being one guy, I can't get to "everything" all at once and also little boo boo's tend to creep in as well. If you want to play with an Albacore that only has a limited range (and therefore limited utility) then go ahead with beta4. But if you havn't started yet, want a fixed plane and maybe get a little more "med" out of the OOB by the addition of German weapons into the game (such as the Stuka's bombs's) then just give me a little time today and you can have em. I planned all along for this process to be a series of improvements...some more rapid than others. Welcome to betaland.

I suspect too that Fremen was unware that if you add a 2nd type of bomb to a dive bomber, the game engine ignores it so having 4 250kg bombs in addition to a 500 or 1000kg is nothing more than window dressing. You could do it in UV....but not in WitP.

Much quieter day today as the British squadrons both broke off their pursuit.....both sighted well to the East and West of the "Zone of Death!" Our convoy reached safety with no losses (though a little bit of grumbling as the battleship escort force retired back to Taranto @ full speed while the convoy was still a hundred miles from port....Supermarina was worried about a possible carrier strike on their precious battleships.

Bugger, I missed that withdrawal - I might have played the turn differently otherwise. Was that the TF that was 3 or 4 hexes from Taranto last turn?

As Nik said, it was a relatively quiet turn. Malta airfield is back down to 0/0 damage (after 0/11 yesterday) and the supply situation is still good. The final orders for Operation Neener Neener have been issued. More plans are in the works.

Aircraft losses were 6 to 11 in the allied favor today.

Here's one thing I haven't often seen. The Axis managed a coordinated attack from 4 different bases (at different distances) from Malta:
