The Brunei landing goes in! A big naval guard unit landed without much counterfire. The Dutch LCU at Brunei was earlier reduced by naval bombardments. Hope I will get the oil field undamaged as I still don´t produce enough oil to feed my industry (looks like I will never be able to build up reserves...)

looking at all those flak bursts in the replay there´s a LOT of flak at Mandalay (3 Sallies were lost to flak this turn, one ops). No wonder as every British LCU retreated there without having fought before. So this is pretty much a flak base with all the base forces there (that get more and more guns when they get replacements). Recon tells me about 90.000 troops at Mandaly - that will be tough. Got 3000 assault points at Rangoon now.

last turn the base was nearly undamaged and I wanted to send in my fighters next turn. This big strike made the base a crater landscape again. Runway at 60% dam and base at 40% dam. Will take 4 turns to repair it.[8|] B17s are making my life very hard. And the Dutch T IV of course! [;)]

Troop numbers are decreasing slightly every turn, as well as the guns. Vehicles went up as well as the assault value. Another two weeks of bombing and then I will order the first deliberate attack. Until then I will have achieved probably more than 200 supply hits I think (I´m too lazy to count them all but would have been interesting... [:D]). Even with the diminishing effects of supply hits there can´t be (much) supply left...

now this was the most surprising fight this turn! [X(] Half of the Chinese LCUs that were in the same hex with my, now, 5 tank regiments marched further to Changsha (I thought if an enemy enters a hex the already marched distance is reset to 0??). More about the completely bugged land movement at the end of this post. And the rest of the Chinese troops were not set on deliberate, or even worse, on shock attack. Only the small Chinese base force attacked my tank units, while the other LCUs all were bombarding! [&o] (wrong click perhaps??) Next turn more of my divisions will enter the hex. Around 2000 assault points should already have entered the hex this turn, but they are still sitting with a distance of 75!!!!!! miles travelled in the hex to the North. Cool, when the max distance is 60 miles. I DON´T LIKE IT!!!! [:@]

Ground combat at Andaman Island
Japanese Shock attack
Attacking force 374 troops, 2 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 23
Defending force 0 troops, 0 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 0
Japanese max assault: 26 - adjusted assault: 14
Allied max defense: 0 - adjusted defense: 1
Japanese assault odds: 14 to 1 (fort level 0)
Japanese forces CAPTURE Andaman Island base !!!
Recon the last days showed Andaman Island empty so a commando of Japanese paratroopers was sent in to take the base. An IJN base force will follow to support some naval search planes there to avoid another British naval bombardment of Rangoon or Tavoy. Andaman Island won´t be really garrisoned.
Here you can see a Japanese division marching into Nirvana it seems as they marched further than the distance actually is! Bugs like this really can influence the game when it comes down to being victorious when the troops arrive the day you need them or being defeated when they arrive one or two days later because once again a bug bites you. To say it in Nik´s and Terminus´ words: The game is broken! Fix it!
The other bug in landmovement I have experienced on and on already in this campaign is that the follow unit command is only working once in a while. Wasn´t the follow command fixed twice or often in the patches? Most often all the troops follow the unit you set them to follow. Then the unit you set the others to follow reaches 60 miles and resets to defend... STUPID! At least the other units then enter all together the hex and the one unit has to be resent (annoying if you march over a trail and it takes you another month to get through that hex). The far more dangerous thing: you set your troops to follow the slowest unit, all (or most) are following but one or two decide to not follow but enter the hex early!!! [X(][8|] Had that happen with a tank unit East of Rangoon. It was set to follow a division into an enemy occupied hex. It didn´t follow but entered the hex two turns early and of course was kicked out again suffering heavy losses. FOLLOW UNIT??? It´s a gamble...
