Noticable is how people react to controversial theories. I mean the big picture here is obviously that there is no room for any other ideas. It feels like beeing stoned to death as soon as you are trying to think outside the box.

I have made a mistake. It is obviously pointless to discuss such matters in a forum like this. I have just today found a more objective forum on a scientific site that discusses this matter in a more serious way with a little more educated, mature and less intolerant people.

I do apologize for having stired up emotions. I was not trying to prove or refute anything.

Since I have joined the new forum to discuss my matters there I would be thankfull if the admins locked down this thread. Thank you in advance. No further comments.

DeZanic what did you expect? Firstly, of the first five to respond, two gave responses to your OP (one of whom happens to be British) and a third gave a joking reference to your statement "call me weird".

What did you do after less than 1 hour?

"Man you guys are boring... what are you british?"

That was a really crappy comment and put you into real Tosser territory - and be honest with yourself, after that grown up statement who was going to give you the time of day - although even then a few did just that.

The issue you have is that no one who did respond agreed with you so you got snotty with post 35. Having slagged off the British it was then the turn of the US education system [8|]

No, mate, you're mistaken. The big picture here is not that you're being persecuted for an original provocative idea. It's that this conspiracy theory has been trotted out so often (and shot down just as often) that most of us aren't interested in discussing it again. It's a hackneyed, threadbare, unoriginal piece that has been put to bed. It's done. We've no more interest in debating it than we are in debating whether the Earth is flat. This debate isn't 'out of the box'. It's so 'in the box' that it's droll. Boring.

There are other 'controversial' theories that stoke the fires of rational debate on this subforum-you may want to avail yourself of those. A recent example is a discussion about whether the use of the atomic bombs was justified or necessary. No one felt the need to take their ball and go home there.

True, there are a few foul-mouthed people on this forum (and others) that are less politic in their dealings with others. That's why this forum comes with a handy 'green button'. I've used it for some time and am pleased with its function. I'd encourage you to do the same if you feel inclined to visit again.

I've been involved in Academia for the past 19 years. I think Dr. Hal is also involved in Academia. Academia does not have a mortal lock on objectivity, maturity or serious approach. It's certainly not a more 'idea tolerant' environment either-it's just 'differently tolerant'. Try preaching conservative political, Christian, REAL racial equality and low administrative overhead and see how far you get in academia.

As others have said, you are likely to get further in these discussions and be taken more seriously if you don't resort to fun and games and teasing others right off the bat.

Let me know what this serious, academic, objective, scientific, educated, mature and less intolerant website of which you speak has to say about this topic. I'd love to hear it.

DeZanic, if you want to take advice, take a step back an read my quote of Canoerebels post. Your reaction is very close to what he puts in his example.

This forum is probably one of the best places to discuss (PTO) WWII history on the net, there might better ones but then only by a close margin. But you need to be aware that many, if not most, potential topics have already been discussed in here, and many conspiracy theories have been solidly debunked if needed. Others simply have been ignored for stupidity.

If someone new shows up trying to start a discussion about a topic - like yours - that has been long ago and without much controversy been shot into myth-land by historians, the reaction tends to be 'oh no, not again'. Happened to me as well, long ago. If you haven´t got the nerves to take some flak you are at the wrong place, and in this case you might feel more comfortable in your newly found 'open minded forum'. But if you can take a bit you might find out this is one of the most honest and knowledgeable places around the net.
