Oddly enough the Soviets haven't lost a single army. We now have 36 in play.
Of course we've lost too many mech corps.

I decide to not retreat any further. Fight and die on this line. A fairly historical
line I'd say. Soviet experience is 41% land, 45% air. Our air force has had it far too
easy.

Against a strong opponent, "training" your mech corps against Finland is just a bad idea.

Turn 55: September 26, 1941

Rain comes to the east front.

I finally have some luck with my carriers and the Illustrious inflicts two steps on the Deutschland CA group in the Arctic,
and the Courageous inflicts 3 steps on a u-boat.

The Soviets lose the BB Marat as at returns to port (I just use these vessels to raid until sunk - no repairs).
In the Black Sea the last of the Axis surface fleet is sunk. All the Soviets have left are a few steps of CL/DD.

The UK is by now sending 58 production per turn to the Soviets. No one can afford to build anything, everything going to upgrades and repairs.

The Soviets try a single 2-to-1 attack in the south where it doesn't rain but take 8 vs 4 steps.

I tried last turn, but could only get 2 to 1 and luck was not on my side. Wore out one of his infantry corps
vs 3 of mine. I'll have to wait until 1942.

Turn 56: October 10, 1941

Axis raiders sink 2 merchants, a u-boat takes 1 step damage.

Allied fleets inflict 3 steps on the Admiral Hipper CA, 2 steps on a German CL/DD.

All Allied nations are still upgrading/repairing.

Will there be an attack on Moscow in the snow?

Turn 57: October 24, 1941

U-boats sink 2 merchants.

The Soviets have a 200 production stockpile again, so I could turn off convoy aid, but I'll keep it going a little longer.
The Finns push back a Soviet army in a Pyrrhic attack. And German units suffer a few steps trying to deal with a some partisans
in western Russia.

Turn 58: November 7, 1941

U-boats sink 2 merchants, lose 2 steps.

I really don't think the u-boat war is worth it for Germany.

The Soviet air force goes on some raids and holds its own against Axis air forces.
Soviet land experience is only 41%, but air experience is 46%.

US builds a mech corps. The Soviets build 2 ground attack groups.

Turn 59: November 21, 1941

Soviet air raids continue.

A couple of mech corps are railed near Finland where they will commence some "light training".

Canada builds a division.

Turn 60: December 5, 1941

The UK ends its aid to the Soviets.

The US builds 30 supply trucks. The Soviets also buy 30 supply trucks. And the Soviets build a tank corps.

Soviet air raids continue, still hold their own against Axis air forces.

Turn 61: December 19, 1941

U-boats sink 2 merchants.

The Soviets are no longer meeting any resistance to their air raids.

The US builds an armor corps and cancels lend lease to the UK.

Turn 62: January 2, 1942

U-boats sink 4 merchants and 1 escort.

The US bombs a completely undefended Cologne, causing 6 production damage.

Canada builds an escort, UK builds 5 escorts.

Turn 63: January 16, 1942

U-boats sink 4 merchants.

US strikes Hanover for 4 production.

UK builds 10 merchants. US builds two large corps.

The Soviets have 868 production and are at 70% manpower. Next turn they will upgrade to Assault 43.

Turn 64: January 30, 1942

U-boats sink 8 merchants and 1 escort.

I thought we were just about done with those pesky u-boats. But at least a carrier finds one and scores 4 hits.

The US bombs Prague in the rain for 2 production.

The Soviets upgrade to Assault 43.

The Germans are back to contesting the air space over Russia, losses are about even.

The US builds a large corps and Canada builds an infantry division.
The UK builds 20 merchants.

Turn 65: February 13, 1942

U-boats sink 3 merchants and take 1 step damage.

Axis fighters stand down and Soviet airplanes rule the skies again.

The US bombs 4 synthetic oil production. We're just hitting targets with no AA.

The Soviets make a few low odds attacks and cause almost as many casualties as they take.
Land experience increases to 42%, air is now at 49%.

The US builds an armored corps. For 1942 the US will have to rely on the RAF for air support.

Turn 66: February 27, 1942

U-boats sink 2 merchants. The Luftwaffe tries to bomb Soviet airfields but with no great success.

It's good to see our air campaign is concerning to them.

More minor Soviet attacks. We even push back a division near Novgorod.
Land experience increases to 42%, air experience finally maxes out at 50%.

The US builds 2 large corps. UK builds the 6th Armour.

US bombs Hanover for 4 production.

US builds two large corps. Canada builds an infantry division.

Clear weather in the south allows the Germans to punch a hole in our lines.

We make a single counter-attack, but I am not about to exhaust my units. Three other minor attacks elsewhere.
All to get some experience and some minor drain on German resources and manpower.
