We deceided to make a rematch with Rick, playing his great scenario. This time I will play with the mighty red army.

1942.05.01.

After months and months of german preparation for an offensive war against our beloved country and his leader comrade Stalin, the german strength on our border's rose to an frightening level. Zhukov said to Stalin on the new years celebrations in 41. 12. 31. :

- "Comrade Stalin, I'm now completely sure that based on our intelligence reports the germans will attack us in june of 42 with everything they have. And we will lose this war if we let them stick to their battleplan.... I suggest an all out preventive offense in may of 42."

- "Are you sure general, that the war with germany is coming?"

- "Absolutely comrade! Let me lead the our preventive attack, and I guarantee all out victory, or at least a draw..."

- " WHAT DRAW????!!!!!"

- "I mean victory comrade"

- "Prepare then for the offense to be started 42.05.01. And If germany is not defeated until 1945 you go back to the far east again but not as general..."

- "I understand Comrade."

The mighty red army has began it's counter against the german nazi troops preparing to attack our beloved country. The german troops were shocked, when the thought to be inferior red army showed this kind of rediness, and did not let them prepare in peace for the offense. This week the red army achieved suprior results. In the North front we encircled Tilsit with 6 infantry korpses trapped. In the middle 1 infantry korps is shattered, 3 infantry korpses are encircled, and 1 cut off. The red air force was not even needed as it withdraw for further strengthening, and to be used when needed later. German prisoners confirmed our reports of coming german attack. The ordinary german solider is shocked by the might of our tank armies, and the prisoners seem even happy to be captured and alive and not to be fighting the red army.

The German armed forces were surprised by attacks from the Soviets, with whom we thought there was an agreement to divide Europe between us. Our enemy took advantage of the fact that the majority of our army and air force were still in North Africa after their successful campaign against the British Commonwealth. These forces were issued immediate orders to return to the homeland to defend the country from this dastardly attack, but with the limited shipping in the Meditteranean, it will take months before they all make it.

Other units, demobilized after the fall of France, were immediately called back up, and these fresh but slightly rusty formations were sent to the front. Although losses on the frontier appear to be high, and the potential loss of further troops is imminent, complete control of the skies was achieved and plans are in the making to take advantage of Guderian's panzers to strike back quickly. So far, the Soviets appear to be avoiding an attack toward Ploesti, which although not as critical as it would be without the Mideast oil fields in our hands, is still an important source of resources.

All encircled german units surrendered this week (7 infantry korpses). No other action taken this week, as the red army is reformed. We started a small attack against Ploesti to keep the germans of balanced.

Hitler ordered a day of mourning for the brave soldiers trapped by the surprise attack in the east. He vowed that it would not happen again, and ordered efforts to throw the invaders out of Germany to be redoubled. A number of minor attacks were thrown at the invading hordes to slow them down while larger forces are mustered for the counterattack.

This week the red army stopped it's offense against the capitalist germany to regroup. The capitalist propaganda about the red army preparing for defense, and that the soviet's lack any information about the enemy line because the total lack of soviet air force is a complete lie.

Absolutely no combat losses this week (we had a few thousand deserter's from the werhmacht this week begging for their life, but we should not count that as combat losses)

The supreme command ordered minor counterattacks against the invader along with very heavy bombing by the Luftwaffe. Meanwhile, with the heavy crush of volunteers to fight the bolshevik hordes, new forces are being formed up daily and sent to the front in every available form of transportation.

The Red Army morale, under the constant air attacks, seems to be failing as the troops pulled back to the pre-war demarcation line in Poland, with minor exceptions. Hitler vowed in his radio broadcast for the week that the army will have all lands returned to German rule soon, and then the hunt for the criminal Stalin will begin.

Hitler's radio broadcast were transleted to the Soviet troops. Morale has been raised but readiness droped slightly as the troops laughed all day long on the empty words of Hitler. Our mighty tank armies are waiting to ambush the foolishly self confident panzer korpses. We continued to reorganize the red army for more striking power. The german air force is like a mosqito... The stinging hurts, but it does nearly no harm (yet?). The rain arrived surprisingly at the weekend.

Flying through heavy rains along the front, the Luftwaffe had numerous problems finding and striking targets, but some damage was done. Otherwise, all was quiet.

The Wehrmacht continued pushing the invaders back to the pre-war frontier, reaching the Bug river along a large portion of the front. Murdered Polish civilians and German prisoners have been found in numerous areas, leading to cries for revenge. However, large attacks will have to wait for further reserves to be called up and sent to the front.

Our 17th army has made small front shortening, which is already celebrated in germany as victory <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> We prepared the death trap for the proud panzers further this week. After the panzer are eliminated the road will be open for a visit in Berlin <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

The Luftwaffe continued harrassing the invaders of the fatherland. A few minor attacks were carried out to weaken the enemy. Finally, airbases near Poltava were identified as holding aircraft and bombers were sent to strike them, destroying a number of planes on the ground. No other signs of the Red Air Force are known west of Moscow.

Hitler ordered the fresh reserves to attack the invaders of our country, even though they hadn't finished preparations for the attacks yet. The enemy was thrown back limited distances for small losses, but Hitler is pushing for stronger attacks that the army is not ready to carry out yet.

The German agresor was thrown back in the Tilsit area. Heroic soviet bombers attacked the german airfields. The attackers were mostly massacred, but at 2 places german airfields were undefended. More then 400 german aircraft perished as result (sadly mostly ju52's).

Hitler ranted at Goering for allowing the Red Air Force to strike undefended airfields, to which Goering replied it was the demobilisation after the fall of North Africa that led to not having enough fighter coverage for the front. Meanwhile, more reserves continue to pour into the front lines, in preparation for throwing the enemy from our soil. Heavy attacks were launched in various parts of the front.

The invader was thrown back further in the Tilsit area, returning the frontlines closer to the start point. Otherwise, not much happened, and the German people have begun complaining about the Sitzkrieg in the east, similar to what led to France's downfall in 1940.

German workers slowly organize theselves, and shortly they will rebel against their fascist/capitalist oppresors and ask for joining workers paradise the Sovietunion. The red army will help to destroy the few million capitalist's who might resist <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

On the front the red army probed the german defense, launching 4 attacks. Seemingly the germans are getting much better in defense as only one attack suceeded.
