Why can't the last AI player surrender?

Post by RepoMan »

Love the game!

But I have a quibble. When there's only one AI player left, the game enters total war. Now, that's fine. But why, when I've bombed their last planet almost to death, do I not get an option to ask them to surrender?

That's how I like to play: federation, surrender, federation, surrender, surrender, federation... but then at game end, I'm *forced* to nuke the last AI player utterly. I'm into conquest, not genocide!

So Andrew, how about it? For 1.2, why not make surrender for the last AI player into a viable option?

(Also, I've had a few crashes back to desktop, all when in the middle of some biggish space battles -- once, I think, was when a standoff blew up one of my ships & an AI ship simultaneously. This is with 1.1.)

Hear my semi-pacifist plea! :-)
Cheers!

I'm sure you can conquer the last world. You have to cut down its population and components, though.

Anytime you get a crash to desktop (or anything else that's weird, like your inability to take over last world), go to the Games folder and rename the autosave.sav to crash.sav (or something unique) so you can attach it to an email to me at support@apezone.com and I'll take a look at it. Just tell me what the problem is in the email.
