Naval gunfire support

Post by Baskaatje »

Dave,

Is there a way to simulate naval gunfire support? In the Holland 1940 scenario the Dutch Navy used three ships to bombard the German para's on the Rotterdam bridge (MTB TM-51 and the small gunboat Z-5 succeeded, the destroyer Van Galen was sunk by the Luftwaffe).

If not (yet) possible in this edition of the AA engine, do you have any suggestions for an alternative solution?

Thanks,

Bas

Now that I think of it. Airstrikes, that could be a surogate. These serve the same purpose as naval bombardment.

Brilliant solution Vance. [:)]

Naval/Off-map fire support is slotted for our Finschaffen/Guadalcanal game ( We really a need a more catchy title for that one, don't we? ). That's a way off yet, so using the air strikes to simulate that effect is the way to go.

OK, flying destroyers it is ;-)

And, BTW, why not call the Finschafen/Guadalcanal game "Crawling through Green Hell" (CTGH)? Or make it a contest, who can come up with the best name for the SWPA game?
