Jap player here-1.802 is not letting me divide my air groups.

How many have you already divided. There is a limit IIRC of 36 for both players

Good point. And that's combined for both players. The test is this: Recombine one, and immediately see if it will let you divide a different one.

well, I tried to reconstitute three sub-groups at Truk. All three had Alfs. the rebuild option wasn't even available (grayed out). Since I was breaking down and disbanding sub-groups into my front line fighter formations prior to 1.8.02, and now I can't, I can only assume this was due to the new patch.

My ground units, however, still have this option.

Anybody else have this problem? Or is it just me...

Make sure there are no fragments of the sub/groups lying around.
You can't split or combine groups if there are fragments of those groups around.
[Check for any on ships also.]

and yes i have problems with dividing as well and it is difficult to assume how many groups are already divided on map

Hi. Yes, I have all three sub-groups at truk, all fitted out with Alf's. level 9 airbase, air support about 350, and abundant supply. Will not allow me to reconstitute.

I guess I can try installing the game again without the 1.8.02 patch, and see what happens. If it works, then I will then load the patch and see if it still works. If not, then I know its the new patch that is causing the problem.

I remember 36. It was a slot allocation limitation which also effected both players. Joe Wilkerson might have increased the allocation I haven't tested lately The problem here appears to be a recombine problem not a division problem

There are 200 "slots" available for divided groups, hence the "66" number ((66x3 = 198)) ...
