Converting CoW Scenarios

I have several that I downloaded and am trying to convert them to the current format. Some will convert and some won't. The ones that won't say that this version of toaw cannot load this scenario. Yet the scenario is clearly marked as cow. Any help please?

TOAW III's executable is derived from the Opart 300 form of TOAW: CoW. Therefore, you need to make sure that the scenario has been converted to Opart 300 in CoW, before you convert it in TOAW III. Be sure to double check the event structure of the converted scenarios after you've done the conversion to TOAW III, since there have been some errors reported in conversion. A scenario dump in CoW (best performed under Win 98, unfortunately) can be compared to a scenario dump of the TOAW III converted scenario. There are no problems with scenario dumping in WinXP for TOAW III, as there were for CoW.

Thanks for the reply.  Since I no longer have CoW, I can't convert to opart300.  But as I go through converting the scenarios I find most are going fine so I'll just delete the ones that aren't.  It's not like I don't have any scenarios to play, after all.[:'(]

If you put out a request, you might find some in the community that can do the conversions all the way from TOAW I, up through the present.

Hi, i can do the conversion from opart to opart 300 in COW if you like. In addition to that i still am running a win98 SE desktop computer, so i can also make the scenario dumps.

I have discovered that toaw1 scenarios can be loaded into the opart.exe of COW and after saving they can be loaded into the opart300.exe and saved as a "big" COW scenario which then could be converted to toaw3. But i don't know if it's bulletproof if you one does it that way, though i haven't experienced any oddities with this method until now.

That sounds great. I'm still not finished doing the conversions. Also, some of the scenarios come out with multiple event errors. When I'm done, I'll send you all the ones that didn't convert properly. Very much appreciated.
