a simple suggestion

I may be doing something wrong, but currently I have to manually copy and paste the email games saves to the folder and then start the game, an auto loader, like decisive battle uses, would be nice and a real time saver, .. ok I am lazy on this one.. but it would make life easy!

You should be able to simply click (or double click) the file, from wherever you have it downloaded. TOAW III will then initialize and load the game as per the way the file was originally created (hotseat, pbem, etc).

The problemo with this method, at least in my case, is that COW is started up instead. I still have COW installed on my machine you see, so I guess COW is the program of choice to have that file "played". And yes, I have attempted to change the file affiliation to T3 and it will not change. The problemo is over my head I guess.


EDIT: Never mind, I found a way to change the affiliation of the file and it works now.

I sure will try that, but last time I got the xp querry what program etc.. next turn is coming soon, next game we may even do an aar, wow consider that! Op Blau going well in some areas and terrible in others!

With me, it's the other way round. .sal and .pbl files affiliated with toaw3, still COW on my computer and the COW files automatically open with toaw3 now. Well, actually it's no problem as i always open the game first, but regarding Larry's post it's a kind of funny.[:D]

That's good. When you get the xp dialogue choose "Select the program from a list" then click "OK". Next check the box marked "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file". Then click the "Browse..." button and navigate to the folder where you installed TOAW III. Select the Opart 3.exe file and click "OK". Then, you should have Windows automatically open TOAW III, whenever you click on a .pbl file. You may need to repeat this with a .sal file, as well, to set the file association for that extension.
