Supply interciepts

Post by Helpless »

Just noticed, that so far I see none of these nasty yellow messages telling that my units got >100% of their supplies trains. [&:]

Am I missing something? They were very regular before the patch.

see the read me that came with the patch 1. Basically, we fixed a number of bugs in nthis area and revised the tolerances used in determining casualties for the supply columns - they were too brittle before.

I have seen that:
TT2972 - AI - Resupply - Determine why transport column reports losses but no trucks actually lost

Does that mean that pre-patch messages didn't mean anything?

While playing Rethymno scenario as Axis, I been expecting to loose at least some supply convoys to cut off units. Could be that I missed something. Just curious if they still in game?

Helpless,

When a request for resupply is processed by the Depot, it determines the supply route and if this is too hostile it suspends the request till later - ie no transport column is despatched. If things are not deemed hostile a supply column is despatched and event raised for the estimated arrival time. At that time a check is made of the route. If it is hostile the column will be destroyed and you will get one of those urgent messages ( yellow ) advising you that it got wiped out. If not hostile but some enemy firepower, then the casualties and consequent supply loss is determined and applied and you will receive another urgent message saying what percentage was destroyed. If no enemy firepower, then it gets to deliver all the supplies and you get a green routine message advising the supplies have arrived.

The changes in the patch were to do with the way in which casualties were being determined and the threshold level at which we deemed the supply route to be hostile. Put simply we raised this threshold so that more enemy firepower is need to cause casualties to the supply column. We also extended a "safe zone" around the destination or receiving unit so units on the front line could receive supplies even though the enemy firepower influence extends into their position. In RL supplies would have been dropped off a little behind the receiving unit and distributed forward by its own means.
