Facemasks

Post by Brockleigh »

Hey guys...

I've modified three of the black facemasks and saved them as new in the black facemask folder, adding them to the available facemask options (as opposed to replacing existing ones). However, when I'm on the player edit screen, I can't pick them. I can select the stock 13 masks that come with the game, but when I move past Mask 13, it moves to No Mask, and then starts all over again. I can't find Masks 14, 15 & 16 that I've made.

Ideas?

There is a text file in the common folder called facemasks.  It says this:

All Maximum Football facemasks are placed in folders according to their color. The mask types are classified by number:

01-09 - kickers/punters, quarterbacks
11-19 - kickers/punters, quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, defensive backs, returners
21-29 - running backs, linebackers, linemen
31-39 - linebackers, linemen
41-49 - linebackers, linemen
99 - no facemask (for use with uniforms before 1960 only)

I'm sure this has something to do with it.

Something to consider too is is that you may be running in high player detail mode. That means that the face masks are meshes, and not textures, and so are not something you can create more of.

If you're in normal player detail mode, and the textures for the masks are named properly, you should be able to load the. Oh yeah.. be sure that the team mask colour matches the face mask colour you made the textures for.

That begs the question then, do you have any plans to add at least a few "old time" facemasks that were popular in the 70's and 80's? I know there are higher priorities, but if more facemasks can't be made by the community, we're kind of at your mercy.
