Multiple Shields or even Partial Shields?

For those of you who have ever read Honor Harrington, you might already know where I am going with this, for those who don't read on.

Can one model a shield to only cover part of a ship? and if so, can you use multiple shield systems, is it possible to create shields that completely cover the top and bottom of a ship and another to cover the sides at say 50% efficiency?

Yes. If you use ship model as shield model, it covers whole ship. If you want cover only few parts of ship, just edit ship model a bit.

No.
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

Multiple Shields with some kind of Shield managment would be great. Unfortunatley it doesnt seem to be supported.
