Failure to replenish at sea

Post by jmolyson »

My AO tankers do not offload fuel at sea.

They never offload, simply carry around "4000" while the carriers go dry.

I put the AO and receiver TF in the same hex but the automatic feature doesn't seem to work. When I try to put everything in one TF, the AO ships won't go.

Other settings:

human control
2 destroyers for escort
5 AO in the AO TF

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

We'll assume the following:

1  that your AOs are in a replenishment TF

2  the AOs and others ships in question all have OPs (operation points) available, with 1,000 the max

3  using the Aircombat (CV) TF you click the refuel at sea button

4  a ship above a certain level (%) of fuel won't refuel at sea

5  the AOs have fuel on board

6   the AOs and CVs are in the same hex

I never thought that doing an AAR would be so time consuming and difficult.

Well, color me dumb.

I was reading the CAP line for fuel, not the FUEL line. I never loaded them at the beginningo of the scenario!

Thanks much!

No problem, you should see some of the problems and the easy solutions that I've dealt with due to my mind being in neutral.
