Axis Blitz Arsenal of Democracy

Gary Grigsby’s World at War is back with a whole new set of features. World at War: A World Divided still gives complete control over the production, research and military strategy for your side, but in this new updated version you’ll also be able to bring spies into the mix as well as neutral country diplomacy, variable political events and much more. Perhaps the largest item is the ability to play a special Soviet vs. Allies scenario that occurs after the end of World War II.

Axis Blitz Arsenal of Democracy

Post by Tom Grosv »

I've just done some number crunching to see what enhanced power the AI has when you play Axis Blitz / Arsenal of Democracy. As far as I can tell -

Japan, China - no change

Germany - Pop 11 to 15, RC 8 to 10, Factory no change except it starts with a x3 multiplier rather than x2 and will reach x5 by 1944

SU - Pop 22 to 23, RC 35 to 42, Fact 13 to 15

WA - Pop 32 to 36, RC 87 to 95, Fact 33 to 37

What does this all do the game? Not sure of all the ramificaitons but I'm currently playing Germany Arsenal of Democracy with every other player AI with attack help 2. I've reached the end of my turn in winter 1941 and I really don't fancy my chances - my 1941 Barbarossa invasion seemed to achieve little more than making the Soviets angry. Adding ground and air units together they have a numerical superiorty of 109 to 104 over Germany and that's before my commitments to the western front are allowed for. 1942 could see me go on the defensive which doesn't bode well for surviving even past 1943. Oh well, I can't complain that new modifications to AWD haven't made the AI tougher to play. I have made mistakes, though, so after my thrashing I'll see if I can't correct them. Got to go..........here come the T34's again........
