anyone up for playing Allies?

Post by fcam1387 »

Hi, I'm looking for an allied opponent for the vanilla "Turning Point" 1942-3 scenario. I reckon this is an enjoyable one to play given that it leaves the grand strategic options open for Japan (and the allies) and it saves the Jap player from all the lengthy and predictable conquest of the initial territories.

I am generally in a position to play more than 1 turn per day.

I am open to typical pbem house rules, but I would like to play with 1) 2 day turns 2) Allied damage control 3) no Allied / Japanese sub doctrines 4) no PDUs - there are definately others but nothing else comes to mind at the moment. Let me know if you are up for a game (facambria@hotmail.com)

Take care

Hi,

I am definitely very interested (would prefer 1 day turns, but will do 2 as well).

There are, however, 2 drawbacks with me:

1) I am relatively new to PBEM - just being spanked as Jap in one of the small scenarios, though that may be worse than in this case, because I did not test Jap against AI before.

2) I will probably not be able to do 1 turn/day, definitely not more than 1. Including weekends, I might be good for 7 turns per week when I am available, which is not always the case.

House rules sound fine so far, details can be negotiated if you are interested in taking me on in spite of all my drawbacks !

Thanks for your interest Hart, however - I should have said at the begining I was looking for a more fast-paced game as I'm on lengthy holidays with some time on my hands. Hope thats okay.

Are there any other takers?

You would have a much easier time finding opponents offering 1-day turns. Most hardcore players will not consider anything else.

Yeah, you're probably right, but personally I would prefer to play a game against someone that won't take over a year to complete. There must be someone that will oblige :)

Hi, I'm interested as I exclusively play Japanese in PBEM and both games that I start as Allied commander was stopped by Japanese player

2 days/turn is my prefered setting so it is ok and I agree with other settings

For other house rules, I prefer as few as possible...with PDU off it should be easy to discuss.

1 turn per day is minimum, I believe in 2-3 turns per day depending on my work load [:)]
