Normandy Gold

Started the Enhanced Normandy Gold Campaign
figured I would try to keep this going

forgot to screenshot my core force
but was basically a couple Engineer plts, couple sections of Engineer tanks, some Shermans, a couple IIc Fireflys, A Guard Infantry Platoon, an SAS platoon along with their jeep transports, a couple of SP mortars, some 17Pders AT Guns with transport, and I forget what else..

Support was provided by some direct fire landing support craft and some small and medium naval guns, as well as a Rocket armed support craft.
There is also some air available from fighter command.

First is overview of Gold Beach. I basically have 2 sectors where I have chosen to land and clear the beach of mines and Obstacles, have received sporadic MG, mortar and 105mm artillery fire.
Scouts and The Guards Rifle Sqd start to spread out from the beach while Engineers and Engineer Tanks clear the beach of obstacles and mines.

Northern Landing Zone, Engineers work rapidly to clear the beach of mines and Obstacles.
Slow moving DD tanks making their way to the beach.

Southern Landing Zone
Churchill AVRES and Sherman Dozers clear Obstacles and mines as some infantry units scout ahead, supported by a few Sherman Vs.
Some German Scouts were spotted and sent packing.

Southern Sector advance.
German scouts pops up near the V hex and fires at Vickers Jeep, and is sent packing!
Unfortunately the SAS Sqd riding was wiped out.

MG fire from Large Stone Building ahead scares the Crap out of some Scouts.

Cromwell CS tank with Engineers riding along is hit and Destroyed by yet unseen 75mm AT Gun.

Aerial Reconnaissance(not really but hey I see the smoke..LOL) has spotted German Artillery in the rear. Naval artillery and an airstrike called in to silence them.

Small force of A Sherman V, and Engineer Tank and some SAS units, break off from main force and move South to capture V hex.

almost Forgot, UK Scout Patrol captured Northern V hex early in the battle, now have 17Pder to defend if counter attacked.

Cromwell CS tank called in to blast area where suspected MG is.

Many units now advancing on "The Hill" where AT gun fire has been reported. Smoke now helps our advance.

Units moving into Southern Village where a German FO unit was discovered and destroyed.
