Sicily to Brenner Pass 43-45

Post by leopard1 »

Anyone having problems with lockup during Replacement calculation? I suspect it is due to mapsize or number of units. I've checked video driver etc, tried to fix a couple of identified errors in event editor, but no luck so far. Any ideas?

huge scenario - takes a whuile to calculate replacements and supplies, nearly 15 mins on COW. in TOAWIII and on a top end machine it should be done in about 5 minutes

Just for comparison: I just ran the first few turns of Sicily to Brenner Pass, and it took less than a minute on my machine. 1.2 Ghz, 756 RAM, crappy video card.

I've got it running on my new Toshiba Satellite A205-S4607, 1.73GhZ and 2GB RAM. It takes about 30 second to run through the replacements and stuff on mine.

By the way, there's a game flaw in this scenario. So far I've identified at least three units (Divisions) on the allied side that have been duplicated. They are:

1). U.S. 1st Armored Division
2). British 56th Infantry Division
3). British 46th Infantry Division

Maybe a patch can come out that fixed these flaws by replacing them with the appropriate unit names.

LOL! Yes, against the PO. Haven't played against anyone before (not that I have time with my job and stuff). [:(]

Well
A) Soon enough we'll have a newer, better version out. The best PO man around is on the team, so the PO will be top notch, as well.
B) Well, just find someone with a turn-around rate close to your own. I'm sure if you ask, you'll be able to find one. :D

Yes, I'll do that. We'll see what I can do. :)

By the way, a general flaw that I'm seeing in the games (i.e. this topic, as well as Red Thunder 1988 and a couple of others) is that, after a few turns by the PO, their air assets all go to "rest" and they're no longer in the game.

I believe the POs use of aircraft has been improved with the forthcoming patch...

Thanks, I'll take a look at that scenario. Air will rest frequently to regain their supply, are you sure they aren't in the game?

BTW, the Allied PO is totally hosed in that scenario, the objective tracks are backward.[&:] The Russian PO could use some work too, especially the bottom units.
