So I gather. I just can't justify spending that much for what amounts to an upgrade, no matter how good an upgrade it is. And I don't understand why Matrix wouldn't want to encourage more repeat business on this game by extending or renewing its discount to registered purchasers of World at War, like me.

It is not an upgrade, it is a sequel to the original GGWAW with substantial changes and additions. You do not get a discount from Ford either when they ship a new car model. I think that the "upgrade offer" was generous and the time frame to do so extensive.
