"Won the xxxxxx" award - bug

Post by maninblk »

Don't know why this is happening, but it my leagues, the pitchers who get the "Best Rookie Pitcher" award, it is getting reported as "Won the xxxxxx". This is the case on the Almanac, the HTML almanac, and the player card. I would take a screen shot, but I don't know how. Thanks

Mainin, open your puresim.xml file (in the xml directory) and look at the last few lines at the bottomof the file. Look for the section that looks something like this:

<!-- Use this section to change award names -->
<!-- DO NOT change the RangeMin and RangeMax values, they are what PureSim Uses to find the award name -->
<AWARDS_TABLE RangeMin="01" RangeMax="01" AwardID="ps_CY">Cy Young Award</AWARDS_TABLE>
<AWARDS_TABLE RangeMin="02" RangeMax="02" AwardID="ps_MVP">Most Valuable Player</AWARDS_TABLE>
<AWARDS_TABLE RangeMin="25" RangeMax="25" AwardID="ps_BestRookieBatter">Best Rookie Player</AWARDS_TABLE>
----------> <AWARDS_TABLE RangeMin="26" RangeMax="26" AwardID="ps_BestRookiePitcher">Best Rookie Pitcher</AWARDS_TABLE>
<AWARDS_TABLE RangeMin="33" RangeMax="41" AwardID="ps_Gold_Glove">Gold Glove</AWARDS_TABLE>
<AWARDS_TABLE RangeMin="42" RangeMax="52" AwardID="ps_SilverSlugger">Pure Slugger</AWARDS_TABLE>

Check that line where the arrow is pointing too.

That's funny, because my game had the same issue as maninblk.

Damn. These entries are written into the default XML. I created a separate customized XML with "Cy Young Award" and "Rookie Pitcher of the Year" included, BUT my current association is locked into the default XML. I see no way to alter this in midstream. Sh*t!! [:@]

What will happen if you rename your default xml to something else and rename the one you have edited so it becomes the default?

Thanks for the advice, Deltadog. [;)] I did just that, and since I hadn't yet completed an entire season, the association loaded OK.

So, now, the basic xml is renamed as puresimbackup.xml.

Backup Puresim.xml somewhere
Delete Puresim.xml
Rename your custom xml file as puresim.xml

Problem solved.

Edit: I now see someone beat me to it. Glad it would have worked :)
