DB editior bugs?

I was playing around with the DB editior last night and ran into an issue. I am still using 3.7.3 and the DB editior is 3.8RC4. Everytime I launch the DB editor via the H3 Launcher it resets most of my choices about movies playing, sound, map information, and icons being displayed in the game.
The other thing I notice is a serious slow down in my computer when trying to use the DB editor. For example I had it running last night and while playing around with the country section of the original DB and nothing else running except for my norton firewall and anti-viral software. It seemed as though it would take an extra couple of minutes before the mouse would move or would select a toggle. As if my computer was trying to decide if it wanted to lock up on me or not. I couldn't even alt-tab out of the db editor for a few minutes either.

My computer is running WinXP Media Center w/SP2
Processor is an AMD64 3200 2.1ghz
Ram installed is 512MB
I have a NVidia GeForce 6600 GT with 128mb of onboard ram
I am running H3 ANW on a Western Digital 300GB hard drive with a 7200RPM access speed.

I don't know if any of that helps or not, but those are some issues I noticed with it right away. Still impressed like heck with what I might be able to do with this DB editor. Still haven't seen all the bells and whistles yet.

A couple of the things I had running in my background were trying to compete for my at the time. Mainly my spam filtering software and an ad-ware protector. I fired it up with again with nothing but my Microsquash programs running and it worked like a champ. No speed issues. I was just testing a couple of the test scenarios that the DB installed, The aircraft recon ground thing scenario.
