Crash to blue screen
Crash to blue screen
Yesterday I downloaded For Liberty and am unable to play it. I enter to the startup screen and when I clock the scneario and the start button it begins to load. In the middle of the loading process it crashes to blue every time. The screen tells me that windows was shut down tdue to a software error and to uninstall any newly added software.
I updated to 1.75 with the same results?
Any help here or do I need to ask for a credit on Amex?
Thanks.

RE: Crash to blue screen
OK, I just read that this game simply wont work with SLI systems.
Thats kind of shocking given that today it has become the standard for gaming computers.
I am running NVidia SLI and every game I have ever purchased has run just fine.
I am requesting a refund.
Please advise how I can go about getting this promptly.
No offence but I will be informing Amex about my dispute in order to protect my rights.
Thanks in advance.

RE: Crash to blue screen
But what is this? SLI isn’t going to work in my game, you say? Say it isn’t so! Yes, it is so. You see, in order for SLI to work, NVIDIA has to program a profile into the drivers that tells the drivers to run the game in SLI mode
seems the problem is with nvidia. go tell em to write a profile for this game so you can play!!!

nice story here that is a couple of years old but tells ya what sli is all about. if they dont make a profile it doesnt work, i guess the games you have purchased you have gotten lucky. they also say that if a game doesnt have a profile it wont default to use one gpu, is that a user option instead? if it is then your game should work.

just checked this out from the nvidia site. seems you can make your own game profiles or set it to one gpu. cant imagine you would need 2 gpu for For Liberty anyway.

RE: Crash to blue screen
I appreciate that NVidia is involved but since a significant percentage of gamers own SLI systems now I would think that the publisher and developer could make sure potential buyers know that SLI machines cant run their game BEFORE we but it!
This is why I love paying with American Express. Dont buy online without it!

RE: Crash to blue screen
And you didn't you try out demo or free game with same graphic engine "1848" before buying this one? Just making sure the graphic engine works in your machine? I suggest trying this course of action next time before making a purchase.
OR are you one of those types that only try to get this great game for free as you found excuse that it might not work under NVIDIA SLI (without profile that can also be configured by user)? Yeah you can do that for a time cheating is easy until matrix get annoyed and block your access as their customer permanently by using their right to choice customers.

RE: Crash to blue screen
hehe, since a majority own SLI machines they should know that Nividia makes the profiles. no game you buy will take advantage of SLI unless a profile is made! i bet all SLI owners know this except you. nvidia even has a big list of games at their website with profiles. they even have a link where you can request a profile and a link to make your own. you could also disable one gpu, For Liberty doesnt need 2. i have to agree with jakerson here, you didnt even try to get this game to run you just wanted to complain even though there is a solution. surprised you even took the time to patch the game, you couldnt spend another 5 minutes to get it to work?
RE: Crash to blue screen
You are both obviously not business people and have little or no concept of customer service. You see I own a business and I do know what it takes to make customers happy. When you make a customer go thru a pain in the ass they cease to become customers. It makes no difference if there is a work-around or not. The customer wants eay to use, plug-an-play gaming and I can tell you that in 30+ games I have purchased including several Matrix published games I have NEVER had ANY problem running them.
Now, Jakerson, since you can only accuse someone you do not know of trying to steal software or in other words PIRATE someone's intellectual property I must assume you are too juvenile to attempt a solid argument. You are like the person who flames a typo. It's fine to disagree with me but to accuse me of stealing is both sophmoric and pathetic.
To refute your childish argument I can say and Matrix has records of more than 10 games I have purchased from them and have paid in good order so if they thought I was a game player they could answer my dispute. They know I am a straight shooter. On the other hand you made it clear you are rude and like to make accusations for which you have NO evidence.

RE: Crash to blue screen
I think I just heard CptHowdy say "Oops!"
RE: Crash to blue screen
no, just posted asking what solutions you had tried but then i realized there was no point in arguing with ya. did see the other blue screen thread and the people in that thread seemed open to suggestons. you posted asking for help but an hour later you say screw it and ask for a refund. what was the point in offering suggestions if you had your mind made up already. my suggestions still apply-try with single gpu, try making your own profile, ask nvidia to make a profile for the game or go to the SLI community forums http://forums.slizone.com/ and ask for help. judging from your response i would say you did none of those things, so no point in wasting anymore time on ya.
RE: Crash to blue screen
Thanks for your suggestions but single gpu isnt working and there is no way in hell I should have to write or ask nvidia to write one for me. That is the developers responsibility.
I dont NEED to play this or any other game that badly. Perhaps fanboi is willing to put up with it but I am not.
Other small developers manage to have their games work with SLI machines and I am sure Hussar could have as well.

RE: Crash to blue screen
My understanding is that Hussar is working on another update which will hopefully address this issue.

RE: Crash to blue screen
Is there an ETA on this?
If there is not a solid ETA I would like either store credit or a refund. Please let me know what your thoughts are. Thanks in advance.
