Chenault

Post by Warpup »

After reading a book on Chenault, I begin to think my usual use of Chenault in PacWar is not historical. He was at odds with most of the Army brass and I don't think there was any chance of him leading an air war anywhere but China. Although I don't think he was in charge of the Chinese airforce at any point (correct me if I'm wrong), I think putting him in the slot for Nationalist China's air leader would be a good way to handle him in PacWar. This would allow him to command allied air groups at bases other than Kunming, something he certainly did. It would also prevent him from being taken away to use as an airleader on another front, something that was politically impossible. :D

Agree, among all the US generals, Chennault was most trusted by Chiang.
