Air attack of inland bases

Am I correct in assuming there is no way to direct an air combat TF to attack a base that is inland but close enough to the sea for a task force to reach (Clark Field, for example)?

I can't figure out any way to do it.

I think the only thing you can do is set the destination to a nearby port (say Lingayen to get at Clark Field) with a target of airfield. If the airfield at Clark is juicy enough, your air combat TF will probably attack Clark airfield. Obviously, you won't be able to do this with a surface combat TF.
