Question reference supporting units

Battlefront features the power of battalion-level combat in some of this period's most bloody and intense conflicts: Saipan, Market Garden, Novorossisk, and Gazala. Players will have realistic control over their soldiers, with a tactical scale just large enough to make a telling difference in the strategic picture.

Question reference supporting units

Post by jynx11 »

Hi,
I have BII and am still learning that one. I just got BF and went through most the manual. I am a bit stumped but just want to make sure. Artillery units no longer support in the tactical shift like in BII? Or am I missing some buttons or other information.
Thanks

This is one of the big differences between DB & BF. Artillery only works as indirect fire... not as part of the close combat.

So you do artillery prep first and then conduct the close combat (no artillery takes part in the close combat).

Just a few more things to note about artillery. As JSS said, you should do your artillery fire on a hex first. This is because you can't fire artillery into a hex that has had a close combat. However, this prohibition applies to the hex, not the unit. A unit forced to retreat into another hex will lose its entrenchment and may become an easy target for your artillery, so don't use it all as once!
