Workaround-Making the Hex Terrain Information Panels a 'Sticky'

Battlefront features the power of battalion-level combat in some of this period's most bloody and intense conflicts: Saipan, Market Garden, Novorossisk, and Gazala. Players will have realistic control over their soldiers, with a tactical scale just large enough to make a telling difference in the strategic picture.

Workaround-Making the Hex Terrain Information Panels a 'Sticky'

Post by Missouri_Rebel »

as posted in another thread;
original thread

Want to keep the pop-up in tact without holding down on the right-click button the whole time? This way you can browse easier.

Heres how;

1) Right-click hex to get pop-up

2) while holding R-click press and hold the Alt key

3) release the R-click and then release the Alt key

That's it. Just click the screen again to remove the pop-up.

Designed this way? Not sure, but a good work around for those interested.

Nice tip, thanks. Although i use a marble mouse (lefty) it's not a big problem for me[;)].

A well needed tip for me. Thanks!

This should be in the Hotkeys section (pages 19-20) that I printed out, but it's not.

This should be in the Hotkeys section (pages 19-20) that I printed out, but it's not.

That is because it is a fluke that I did it on accident and not really programed to do so. It also works for ANY of the pop-up screens and can be done quite quickly after a couple tries.
Awesome tip Thanks!!!

You're welcome. Glad to have it work as it is easier for me to view this way.

Another great gift from the sovereign state of Missouri.  Amother undocumented function I've mentioned in reviews of SSG games is holding ALT brings up a magnifier.

Hey, mo rebel, I'm from Odessa, Mo.  From where do you hail?

Lest we all forget.
Hey, mo rebel, I'm from Odessa, Mo. From where do you hail?

I currently live outside of Hillsboro, Mo. but spent my earlier years near Caledonia and a short bit in South St.Louis.

Undocumented? Sheesh. Hard to believe as I couldnt live without it. I credit my discovery to nothing other than big, clumsy fingers.

I remember about 2-3 years ago reading about the ALT key turning into a magnifier. I don't remember where I read it though but it sure has helped me out!

I too have clumsy fingers due to a disability and the problem with finding hidden keys with them is I don't always know what I pressed?! [:)]

Well your fingers may not work as good as others, but I see that God has granted you a good sense of humor. We are all blessed in so many ways that we are usually too stubborn to see. Glad to have met you, LarryP, even if just in space.

I believe in the next few (very few) years, we as a nation will see just how blessed we have been. Yes I have been blessed, as I broke my neck in 1984 and was a quadriplegic. I have walked now with entirely no help for 21 years. Slow but totally independant. Humor has been one of the best escapes for me in this ordeal. As far as God goes, I give God and His Son all the glory! That probably just alienated about 2/3 of the members.

Thank you for the kind message MO Reb, and I am pleased to meet you in space too.

I have an older Force Feedback joystick. I haven't used it in a few years though. I used it for Microsofts Motocross Madness. That was a blast! Reminds me of my younger days of actually doing those dumb stunts.
