Can't load saved games

I am currently playing a grand campaign game. I saved my game but when tried later to load my saved game I received a message saying I had to have the CD inserted to load the saved game. Since I bought this via digital download that presents a problem. Is there a workaround for this or is Matrix games planning on sending CD's to those of us who purchased the digital download?

Tell us exactly what you are doing:
 
Playing CoI (i.e. not MMCCIII)?
Which Campaign?  There is the "Grand Campaign" and the "Cross of Iron Grand Campaign"
Are you playing a Mod? (if so which one)
 
You should not need the CD to play Cross of Iron, but you can get this message if you are missing something (a Map for example).

Thanks. I'm playing COI vs the AI (not MMCCIII). I am playing the grand campaign (not the cross of iron grand campaign). I am not playing a mod. I have no problem starting up and playing a campaign, but after I save the game I can't go back and load that saved game. If I click on 'saved games' in the start menu I get an error message that tells me I need to have the CD inserted to play that game.

Looks like a missing map.

After the error message saying you need the CD...

is there another message saying it can't find a map?

Look in the \games\save folder and tell me in Alphabetical order what is there.

Thanks for responding. There is no other message or mention of a missing map. Only that I need to have the CD installed. My games/save folder is as follows:

OK

When you try to open a saved game CoI/CCIII looks at the games in alphabetical order.

I see you have "assault on Europe" in there." from WFv10.

You have then uninstalled WF and gone back to playing stock CoI

The Omaha map will be missing from your maps folder now.

You have two options.

1. Rename this save game to "X_Assault on Europe" or something similar.

2. Download and install Omaha to your maps folder

Hi,

I have a similar problem but.. I can't solve it.

I installed CoI, then GD mod, then WF mod.
I played battles at each installation to see te mods working. Then I decided to play GD mod first but... now I can't open the GD savegame..
the game wants the cd [:(]

ah... I downloaded and installed Omaha map as suggested but... nothing[:(]

I renamed the savegame Assault on Europe as suggested but.. sitll nothing !

after asking me the cd the games tells me that is unable to open the "assault on europe" file in the "campaign" folder.. not in the savegame !

I had this problem last night.

I suspected it was after I install the Europe addon...so I went into the mod swap app and removed the mod, I was then allowed to drop down the list of saved games and I removed the europe ones I spotted and everything is fine now.

C:\Program Files\Close Combat\Close Combat III\ Folder
 
and open instmods.ini with notepad

 I am playing the stock game and the CoI campagine, when I go to play a saved game under the CoI campagine it will not load the game it ctd's.
